Doing my bit to boost the ratings of this GREAT product. Have repurchased probably 8+ times. It is a thin, milky fluid intended to diminish fine lines, puffiness, and dark circles. For me, it accomplishes those things....it is a dramatic difference that it makes? No, but I don't think anything will literally take 20 years off. When I have (rarely) stopped using this, my puffiness and dark …Read more

Liquid - GIVENCHY - Photo'Perfexion Fluid Foundation SPF 20

I love this foundation so, so much. My skin is combination--normal leaning dry cheeks and upper lip, normal leaning oily everywhere else. I have enlarged pores on my nose, the frontal plane of my cheeks, and between my eyebrows. There is also a bit of pitted scarring on my cheeks from past acne. My objectives in choosing a foundation are 1) to make my skin look as smooth as possible, blurring the …Read more

I don't understand the hype over this foundation. It makes my well-cared-for, moisturized, exfoliated skin look like the Sahara desert while simultaneously turning my normal-to-moderately-oily T-zone into an oil slick. Amazing.

It emphasizes every fine line, dry patch, and pore on my face. And I cannot, for the life of me, find a shade that matches me (and I am what I consider a …

Primer/ Corrector - MAKE UP FOR EVER - HD Microperfecting Primer in 5 Blue

Fantastic stuff here. I have very fair neutral skin that can all too easily take on either sallow or ruddy overtones...this color correcting primer manages to correct both and gives me a bright, radiant, "Snow White" type of look to my skin that I feel is very flattering on me. I seldom use this alone--I like to mix it with either MAC Strobe Cream or Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector in …Read more

I am a foundation hoarder, and this foundation makes it into my Top 5 (my other faves being Guerlain Lingerie de Peau, Chantecaille Just Skin TM, YSL Touche Eclat (reformulated version), and Sisley's Phyto-Teinte Eclat). As you can tell from that list, I generally prefer light coverage and often find fuller-coverage products to merely emphasize the effects of aging on my 36 year old skin. No …Read more

Primer/ Corrector - Serge Lutens - Makeup Base Quant-a-soi

If your search for the ultimate primer has led you to this page, your search is over. This is it. This is the one. This will ruin you in terms of how you judge any other primers you own.

For background, I am a lost-cause makeup junkie, always in search of the BEST base products (primers, concealers, and foundations are my major area of weakness). As I write this, I am a few months away …

Lipstick - Urban Decay - Revolution Lipstick - Fiend

I have been searching for the perfect medium pink lippie that's neither too blue nor too orange. UD Fiend is that lippie!

I have very neutral fair skin (NC15 is too yellow, NC15 just a bit too pink), and this shade looks so beautiful against my skin, if I say so myself :)

The formula is very soft, creamy, and comfortable. There is a slight moist sheen when first …

Moisturizers - Makeup Artist's Choice (MUAC) - Argan Oil

I love love love Argan oil! My dehydrated, sensitive, acne-prone skin soaks it up and glows after every use. No breakouts. No oil slick.

Immediately after washing my face (and while my skin is still wet), I apply about 8-10 drops and massage into my skin for about 30 seconds. By the time my face is dry and the oil absorbed, I have glowy, supple, moisturized skin. This has been the …

Cleansers - CLINIQUE - Facial Soap Mild

I'm always surprised by the negative reviews of this product! This is the only cleanser that my picky, sensitive, dry, and acne-prone skin can tolerate. I use mineral oil to remove sunscreen and makeup, and this soap creates a pleasant, creamy lather that effectively removes all traces of the oil without leaving my skin dry and stripped. I've tried many so-called "gentle" …Read more

Treatments (Face) - No Brand (DIY or homemade) - Ice Cubes

Icing my face is the best thing I've done for my skin, ever. After finally getting my hormonal cystic acne under control through Spiro, BC, and dietary changes (no cow's milk products, low gluten, lots of fruits/veggies), I was still left with small, flat, red bumps that never seemed to go away. I had long suspected that my lifestyle/job was to blame: I am a hot yoga teacher and …Read more
