Feb/06/2015

Oh how I love my coconut oil. And here are some awesome things to use if for, if you don't already:
- Make-up remover.
- Shaving oil.
- Eye cream/eyelash/eyebrow conditioner (apply with a very light hand!)
- Deep conditioning hair mask (apply to towel dried hair, wrap, and leave on for up to a couple of hours. Rinse well).
- Add a tablespoon to your bath water …

BB Cream - Smashbox - Camera Ready BB Cream SPF 35

3.0
Created with Sketch.

Feb/06/2015

This BB cream was good, but I wouldn't say that Smashbox hit it out of the park here, either.

Pros:
- There is a wide variety of shades (I bought "fair" and it was my perfect shade since it had fairly pink undertones to it- which is hard to come by, actually).
- The coverage is great, and a little bit of cream goes a long way.
- SPF 50. There is never …

Dry Shampoo - Batiste - Dry Shampoo

5.0

Dec/09/2014

I am a dry shampoo convert and everyday I find another reason to love it.
This brand is fairly cheap, smells good, and gets the job done (plus, you can buy them in cute travel sizes for your purse).

One way that I avoid the "chalky" problem that everyone talks about is that I actually spray my roots the night before.
Over the course of the night the powder will …

Brows - Maybelline New York - Brow Drama Sculpting Brow Mascara

2.0

Poor packaging.
Not enough colour payoff.
Leaves brows feeling stiff and crunchy.

I can appreciate that more drugstore brands are hopping onto the eyebrow wagon and coming out with new products, but this particular product is a miss for me.

Higher end brands may cost about $10-$12 dollars more, but in my opinion they're worth the extra money.

Eye Primer - Urban Decay - Eyeshadow Primer Potion - Eden

2.0
Created with Sketch.

Sep/06/2014

As a huge fan of the original UDPP, I was really excited to try Eden, because for the same price it had a little extra tint to it (helpful for those under eye discolourations).

But I am so disappointed! I have to agree with the other reviewers that Eden's consistency is totally different from the original formula- it's thicker, harder to blend, and applies streakier …

Polishes - OPI - Nail Lacquer - Tickle My France-y

5.0

A perfect rosy nude that applies both smoothly and evenly, either in one coat or two.
Definitely my year-round beige (thereby justifying the $11 price tag), which makes my nails look much healthier than they really are.

Absolutely recommend!

Lipstick - RIMMEL - Lasting Finish by Kate Moss - 08

5.0
Created with Sketch.

May/12/2014

This is officially my all-time favourite lipstick!
The colour is sort of a dusty rose with cool cocoa undertones (but no so much that it's a 90s throwback lipstick).

Pros:
- The colour is perfect my cool, fair skin; it's totally buildable between day and evening as well (since my lips are a washed out pale pink this shade adds some richness to them).
- …

Eye Primer - benefit Cosmetics - Stay Don't Stray Eyeshadow Primer

2.0

May/01/2014

I really should have known.
Despite reading many mixed reviews on this product, I came across it in the drugstore and made a last-minute decision to purchase. There is something about the Benefit displays that suck me in, even though I should know better by now.

At $30 CAN a pop, it was an expensive mistake to make.
To clarify, what I was looking for was a tinted primer …

Concealers - Garnier - SkinActive Clearly Brighter Anti-Dark-Circle Eye Roller

4.0
Created with Sketch.

Apr/24/2014

I was pretty sceptical when purchasing this eye-roller since I don't always have the best luck with Garnier products (more recently with their BB Creams). But I did my research and took the plunge when I saw it on sale at Shoppers Drug Mart (that being said, it still wasn't cheap).

I have been struggling with dark under-eye circles for a long time, partially because my skin …

Mascara - Maybelline New York - Great Lash Mascara

2.0
Created with Sketch.

Apr/24/2014

This is the first mascara I ever bought when I was 14. It's about as plain as plain can be in terms of mascara: the brush is plain, the colour is your standard black, and it's an inexpensive mascara, even in terms of low-end brands. I bought it again recently because I was in a bind and pressed for time.

Pros:
- Great Lash is inexpensive and available pretty much …
