Hair Treatments - Olaplex - No.7 Bonding Oil

This oil isn't anything special. It's too heavy, just sits on top of the hair straw and applies unevenly, and seems to have no real repairing effect. I get better smoothing and glossing results with GOSH overnight oil and TIGI afterparty. I am a fan of Olaplex products no. 1, 2 and 3, which saved my hair. But the rest of the Olaplex product line is average at best.

Hair Color - Redken - Shades EQ Gloss Demi-Permanent Color

This is a toner which doesn't lift your natural hair color, meaning that it will not leave hair with reddish/yellow undertones when it washes out. Toners that lift (such as Goldwell Colorance) sets off a vicious cycle of toning to counteract the brassiness from the toner itself.
I have used the EQ shades gloss in 10P and 10V (mixed 50/50) to counteract brassines in highlights and in 7N …

Highlighters - GOSH - Lumi Drops Illuminating Highlighter - Vanilla

I use this as a highlighter on cheeks, the corner of my eyes and under my brows. The 'reflectiveness' is medium, (not mirror-like shine) and the glitter particles are small, so no individual specks of glitter are visible on the skin. This makes it useful for daywear and adding subtle highlights. The consistency has a bit too much slip for my taste, as I already have oily skin.

Hair Treatments - GOSH - Overnight Dry Oil VITAMIN BOOSTER

According to the GOSH website the Overnight dry oil is a 'vegan-friendly overnight treatment product for dry hair, split ends and damaged hair, which has been over-processed or heat damaged'. Which just about describes my hair. I use it as an overnight treatment and as the last step when I style my hair. It definitely makes hair softer and shinier. The ends of my hair are frizzy and …Read more

Hair Color - No Brand (DIY or homemade) - Vitamin C Hair Color Remover

Absolutely works. My sister had bleached her hair and the hair pulled very yellow-orangey. She then used a toner, which ended up way too grey. I crushed 20 Vitamin C tablets in regular shampoo, added a little dish washing liquid (for extra stripping qualities), massaged into hair, let sit under a shower cap, checked every 20 minutes. After an hour, most of the grey had lifted. After she rinsed …Read more

Hair Color - Goldwell - Colorance toner, any color.

I am a natural 7N (medium ash blonde) which goes 8N (light ash blonde) in the summer. I have been getting highlights in my hair for years but tend to go brassy really quickly. Purple shampoos doesn't work for me at all. My tips go grey-purple while the yellow still show through elsewhere. Not a good look. A new hairdresser used toners on me after a highlighting service; Goldwell colorance …Read more

Hair Treatments - Olaplex - Olaplex No 1 & No 2

I bought the stylist's Olaplex kit, consisting of Olaplex 1, 2 & 3, to salvage my hair, that was damaged by a full bleach treatment. In combination with Aphogee 2-step Protein treatment and GOSH cleansing conditioner (a gentle way of shampooing/cleansing hair), my hair is much stronger, shinier and less frizzy. I don't use the Olaplex products quite as directed. The 1, I don't …Read more

Treatments (Face) - Makeup Artist's Choice (MUAC) - 40% Mandelic Acid Peel

I am a huge fan of MUAC peels, especially the 40% mandelic acid peel. I have been using it 2-4 times a month for the last year and it helps tremendously with breakouts, enlarged pores and post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation (red marks after acne). When I first began using it, it would tingle or itch slightly upon application. Today, I can hardly feel it. I apply it for five minutes and wash off …Read more

Lash Treatments - RapidLash - Eyelash & Eybrow Enhancing Serum

I have been using the Rapidbrow for three months to grow fuller brows. It does work. Some time ago I had my eyebrows microbladed in bald spots and fine hair now grows over the microbladed spots. However, it does not work impressively, I have to use brow mascara to make the new, fine hair visible, and I have not had that much new growth outside the existing eyebrow. No Cara brows for me, I guess …Read more

So, this does actually work. In combination with a lash lift/perm or a lash curler and mascara, my lashes now look quite impressive. Unlike some reviewers, no one suspects me of having lash extensions or falsies. Without mascara, the results are barely visible. With mascara and a curl or lift, my lashes are noticeably longer, but like naturally long lashes, not the obvious look of extensions …Read more
