Eye Shadow - Laura Mercier - Caviar Stick Eye Color - Amethyst

I was a little disappointed in this shade. It's been touted as almost the holy grail for green eyes. On my lids it reads more pinky than purple-y so I need to add definition otherwise I look a little pinky-eyed. Probably for someone with a different skin tone it might work better (I'm strongly yellow-based but with some ruddiness in the face). It's not a bad product, and the quality …Read more

Eye Shadow - Laura Mercier - Caviar Stick Eye Colour - Plum

This stick is much better than the Bobbi Brown stick in plum, which I tried ages ago and wasn't able to apply evenly. I think because this Laura Mercier stick has a bit more shimmer in it, it applies better. It's not super shimmery though, I find it quite flattering and I'm in my forties. Plum as well as with copper are my go-to shades when I want to make my green eyes pop. I …Read more

Eyeliner - SHISEIDO - MicroLiner Ink Eyeliner

I bought 02 brown in this, because I already had the Kajal Ink Artist in black. I really like this liner. It can be used above and under the lashes. I mostly use it to sightline because the slim shape makes it really easy. It stays on well. It seems to go on a bit wet and then dries and lasts really long. Good product. Expensive, and the packaging is small so I'm not sure how long it will …Read more

Eyeliner - SHISEIDO - Kajal Ink Artist Shadow, Liner, Brow - Nippon Noir

I hesitated between the Microliner and this one, and ended up buying this one as the SA explained that it can be smudged more easily. It's true. The Kajal Ink Artist is a versatile product. I've used it to line just above the lashes and it's easily smudgeable to a soft finish (as long as you do it before it sets), so it kinda works as "liner" eyeshadow, too. But mostly I …Read more

Cleansers - Avene - Antirougeurs Anti-Redness Dermo-Cleansing Fluid

This lotion cleanser has not irritated my skin, despite the fact it has fragrance (in a product for rosacea skin!). However, it doesn't work well as a cleanser. I need to follow up with a gel product - so double cleanse - to get rid of the greasy feel it leaves on the skin. I've definitely experienced better cleansing "milk" products. Won't buy this again.

This is so white. I bought it because of recommendations for persons with melasma, but haven't really managed to test its effectiveness, because the white cast on my face is so off-putting. I'll give it another try when I go on a hike and don't have to care about esthetics, but this is not for everyday use, especially as per instructions you need to use a lot of it to get the …Read more

Treatments - Essie - Apricot Cuticle Oil

Useful product. I didn't think it was necessary, but makes my cuticles look better than hand cream alone when they are dry and ragged. I don't think it's a lasting effect, but regular-ish application of this oil and use of hand cream makes a difference. The scent is synthetic apricot, not a great fan. The colour doesn't transfer on to the skin as a previous reviewer claimed …Read more

In Europe this is sold as spf30, not sure why. In any case it's the same product. Other than that it's not spf50 this is the best mineral (zinc oxide-based) daily sunscreen I have found so far. I have sensitive combo skin with melasma, so I need daily spa but it also needs to be cosmetically elegant. Not many high-spf mineral sunscreens are at the amounts you need to use to get adequate …Read more

I got this based on some rave online reviews. I have sensitive combination skin and melasma, so I need a cosmetically elegant sunscreen without chemical active ingredients, zinc oxide-based (as titanium dioxide is less effective) and without a white cast, for daily use. That's a tall order. I ordered this from the US, and I live in the EU. It turned out much more costly than I anticipated …Read more

Loose Powders - Ben Nye - Bella Luxury Powder: Buff (formerly known as Visage Poudre Luxury Powder)

Excellent loose powder, pretty much invisible on the skin. Price-quality ratio is very good. I prefer a slightly yellower shade, but Buff is very translucent so it should work for most people with fair skin. The only reason I would not buy this again is that the "light banana" shade works better for me.
