I found these microdermabrasion crystals on Amazon, where I noticed they had a lot of favorable reviews (575 and counting -- almost all of them 5 stars). They are very fine grained, a little goes a long way, you can buy a small 8 ounce tub for only $12.99 to try them out, I have had mine 6 months and it is still half full, even with using them at least once daily. I love them, they come as …Read more

I have phymatous rosacea, which causes my skin to thicken with associated sebaceous gland hyperplasia that leaves large bumps on my face. My dermatologist will burn the lumps off with acid at $50 per lump, but they just grow right back. I find the only thing that keeps everything in check during a flareup is frequent microdermabrasion. Otherwise my skin puffs up and thickens. And my pores …Read more

I'm 58 years old and my hair has been gradually turning white, however, I have just enough blonde left that it makes my white hair look kind of yellowish and more blonde than silver. So I tried several toners, such as Manic Panic Virgin Snow, and Pravana Silver, and they just didn't quite do it. Manic Panic was good, but washes out too soon. Pravana Silver turned my hair too grey. …Read more

I am 57 years old and have had rosacea, the kind that causes hyperplasia of your skin cells and sebaceous gland hyperplasia, for a long time. So my pores are pretty much noticeable no matter what I do. I have never really used primer before because I never found one that did much of anything, but I thought I would try this one because the name "blur" attracted me, and it is amazing! …Read more

I bought this to use as a face mask and also because it is edible clay good for digestive disorders. In the meantime I found a recipe online for homemade mineral powder that called for finely ground green clay powder. I have rosacea so I tried this just straight as a finishing powder, and it is amazing! It's very sheer with a slight green tint which works well to counteract the redness …Read more

I bought this foundation based on the great reviews here at MakeupAlley and I am so happy that I tried it! I usually don't have very good luck with drugstore foundations and have generally avoided Cover Girl (I guess I still remember the heavily scented Cover Girl liquid foundation from the 70s). I am 57 years old with an oily T-zone, large pores, and Rosacea. I don't like to use …Read more

I tried this concealer based on all the great reviews here at MakeupAlley. I'm 57 years old and have been extremely lucky in that I really have no wrinkles or fine lines around my eyes yet. Other women my age are always amazed by it (I attribute it to my DHC moisturizer but that's another review). I do have some dark circles and puffiness lately, so I've been trying different …Read more

I bought this on a whim while purchasing the Wet and Wild cover all foundation. The foundation is great, but the concealer is awful. I have really dark circles under my eyes and this concealer actually seemed to accentuate them. It might work better as a highlighter or eye makeup primer, it looked fine directly underneath my eyes, and brightened my under eye area, which actually accentuated …Read more

Okay, I know this seems crazy, but this stuff is the best whitening shampoo I have found for my hair! When I was younger my hair was a blonde/brown mix, which came out looking dishwater blonde, so I always colored it. But now the brown hairs have turned white, so my hair is a mixture of blonde and white and my white is very fine, not coarse. For some reason, whenever I try the silver shampoo …Read more

I tried this when I bought some Cover Girl Aquasmooth compact makeup because it was buy one get half off. I am really impressed with how smoothly this goes on, it doesn't creep into my fine lines, and looks very natural! I actually like it better than the Lancome and Lauren Hutton I have been using, especially because of how easy it is to apply and blend.

UPDATE: I've …
