Polishes - China Glaze - Groovy Green

Beautiful mint green creme. It's the kind of 50's retro shade I'd put in my kitchen - You know, one of those subdued pastels that make everything feel so retro chic. With three coats you will have that 50's mint green...reminiscent of KitchenAid's Pistachio mixer. One coat will make for a very interesting take on the ordinary sheer beige (it's not quite green …Read more

Polishes - OPI - Alpine snow

5.0

Alpine Snow, though an average and exceedingly stark, Plain-Jane white, receives a top rating of 5 for me for versatility alone. Alpine Snow is the perfect French tip as well as the perfect base for sheer colors which require coat upon coat to show. I've done a quick coat of Alpine Snow to prime my nails and boost the effect of the watery Gargantuan Green Grape. I've also used it as …Read more

Polishes - OPI - Nail Lacquer - Do You Lilac It?

5.0
Created with Sketch.

Mar/16/2006

This is the kind of color that immediately reminds me of spring - most notably Easter (when I was a child, I had an Easter dress this color!). Do You Lilac It? is an opaque lilac creme. It's one of the more delicate polishes from the Brights collection and looks great against my olive skin. My favorite way to wear it is by first applying two coats, then adding Alpine Snow polka-dots. It …Read more

Lotions/ Creams - Kiss My Face - Honey & Calendula Moisturizer

5.0

Mar/13/2006

This is my holy grail, fallback favorite - my trusty standby when all else fails and I'm in need of comfort. And moisture. I liked my first bottle so much that I purchased this from Kiss My Face's website in the gallon size last winter and I'm about halfway through with it. It is truly wonderful. Where do I begin? The texture of H&C lies between that of a body butter and …Read more

Gels/ Soaps - LUSH - Honey I Washed the Kids Soap

4.0
Created with Sketch.

Mar/13/2006

LUSH's Honey I Washed the Kids is a creamy soap with a rich lather and an interesting scent. The scent is a combination of what I believe to be caramel, brown sugar and honey - with a slightly sour undertone to it. I do find HIWTK somewhat addicting - even though I detect that sour undertone to it, the scent is not completely ruined for me. It's comforting and sweet and does linger …Read more

Gels/ Soaps - LUSH - Snowcake

5.0

Mar/13/2006

Oh, my. I am in love with LUSH Snowcake. In love. This soap is bliss. Pure, creamy almond milk with a clean undertone - maybe a hint of musk, a touch of sunbaked hay? But a hint and nothing more - just enough to keep Snowcake from going the foody almond route. It's perfect - and seasonal. *cry* I can easily go through a bar in a week with daily use …Read more

Candles - Laughing Out Loud - Honey

5.0

Mar/13/2006

I love this one... Honey is perfectly captured within this tart - a sweet, true, waxy honey. Pure beeswax honey, with maybe a touch of honey blossom. It's not a maple syrup based scent at all - it's more of a floral honey, not quite food-y. It's honestly perfect. If I could find a fragrance that smelled like this, I'd be set. As with all of LOL's tarts, this one …Read more

Candles - Laughing Out Loud - Almond

4.0

Mar/13/2006

Very reminiscent of pure almond extract with a distinct clean, somewhat fabric softener backdrop to it that prevents it from being overly food-y. It is the sort of almond that Castelbajac is to the fragrance world. I will most likely repurchase, though I believe Almond Pastries is what I'm really looking for. These tarts are of excellent quality - they last throughout several tealight …Read more

Candles - Laughing Out Loud - Pistachio Fluff

5.0
Created with Sketch.

Mar/13/2006

Pistachio Fluff is a warm, comforting scent - a sweet pastry cream with a toasted nuttiness to it that reminds me very much of cannoli filling. I will definitely be repurchasing. The quality of these tarts is superb - they have great throw and last through several tealight burnings.

Lotions/ Creams - Unlisted Brand - Bathed and Infused - Body Fluff

3.0
Created with Sketch.

Mar/10/2006

I was disappointed to find that these Body Fluffs have quite an odd and unexpected texture. Though misleadingly rich and whipped in their jars, these Fluffs apply awkwardly... They pull against the skin and feel almost rubbery - they are super waxy and thus result in a very uncomfortable application - unpleasant all around. I am not impressed. Bathed and Infused offers many fabulous scents …Read more
