Treatments (Face) - Deciem - The Ordinary Resveratrol 3% + Ferulic Acid 3%

I've been reading up on the topical efficacy of the two antioxidants used in high concentration here.
There were conflicting reports on resveratrol, where one from 2011 stating that it metabolizes too qickly to have time to be effective, yet another from 2017 in vivo (i.e. studies on live skin) assessment showed it's antioxidant effects were still active throughout the epidermis 24 …

Cleansers - CeraVe - Hydrating Cleanser

5.0

CeraVe recently launched here in Sweden and since they're everywhere in discussions here I obviously had to check them out.

I have used it twice daily for a week now and so far it has performed perfectly! MY skin is dry, dehydrated and prone to non-rosacea erythema and there are very few cleansers that fit me perfectly. But so far this does. I even used it a second time after …

Sunscreen - La Roche-Posay - Anthelios Shaka Fluid (Sans Parfum) SPF50+ PPD 46

I see sunscreen as a necessary evil. I use it religiously for health and vanity reasons, but hate having to mitigate the white cast they give with makeup to give back something resembling life to my skin. I'm also lucky if they don't burn, gives me erythema or dries me out or feel greasy.

Shaka Fluid really ticks my Goldilocks zone. It's neither moisturising nor …

Treatments (Face) - Deciem - The Ordinary Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1%

I hesitated buying this for a long time because I have dry skin and I heard it was a bit drying. But since I love what niacinamide does for my skin and allways have a serum with around 4-5% in my routine, I decided to give it a shot.

I don't find it drying at all! The *texture* of it is dry and leaves a squeeky feeling to the skin, but as long as I apply something emollient over …

Loose Powders - Max Factor - Miracle Veil Radiant Loose Powder

4.0
Created with Sketch.

The small jar (only 4 grams, which is ok for me, because I can't remember when I last used up a jar of loose powder.) of Miracle Veil Radiant Loose Powder caught my eye at my local pharmacy, so I swatched it on my hand. Since I didn't like the tiny sparkly particles showing up under the halogen lights it was a pass.

Right after I went to Sephora to check out the Hourglass …

Treatments (Face) - Deciem - The Ordinary Hyaluronic Acid 2%+B5

I really like this! Compared to the last HA serum I've used, Vichy Mineral 89, this is much more concentrated, has multiple weight/size hyaluronic acids, never pills up - o it's own or under other products - and is a lot cheaper.

It's quite thick, sticky and is hard to measure out. It leaves the dropper in strings rather than drops and applies a lot easier on skin that …

Lip Treatments - NUXE - Bio Beauté Repairing Lip Balm with Apricot Butter

I think the honey is what makes the original so magical. This has less of it and feels more like a regular - albeit brilliant - lip balm.

In Sweden it's ecactly half the sprice of the pot with less than a third of the amount. Maybe you need less with a stick, but I also feel I have to reapply more often.

i retract a lippie when it comes to packaging because of the …

Treatments (Face) - Avene - PhysioLift Smoothing Night Balm

5.0

I have been using Avene's retinaldehyde products for probably ten years by now and PhysioLift is their latest line. The Night Balm, with its pleasent gel-cream texture differs from the older Ystehal Cream only in textute and purple prose. It has the same amount of retinaldehyde (0.05%), but is geared towards an older age group. Never mind that. The excellent anti-aging properties is the …Read more

Cleansers - Exuviance - Gentle Cleansing Creme

I went through at least three travel sizes of this before I "got" it. It being a creamy cleanser I believed it would be more effective used on dry skin. I was wrong...

You really need just a small amount - about the same amount you'd use a foaming cleanser - massaged onto wet skin. That way it rinses off clean and will remove at least light makeup. It also ends up being …

Moisturizers - Avene - Hydrance Intense Rehydrating Serum

I rejected this serum for the longest time. For a product labelled INTENSE (not my italics) designed for very dehydrated skin the list of ingredients doesn't wow any mind primed on hyaluronic acid and other superlative humectants.

Blame it on boredome, obsessive compulsive shopping or what not, but after the fourth time I pumped a bit of this fluid lotion onto my hand I decided …
