Sunscreen - EltaMD - UV Pure Broad-Spectrum SPF 47

Dec/24/2017

I almost gave this away, after realizing it was too occlusive for me to keep using it on my face in the summer. Luckily, I found Dr. Dray on youtube and picked up a handy little tip...I now use this under my eyes, on my browbone, and even on my eyelids! It is safe and gentle enough to use near the eyes, even right up to the lower lash line, because it contains no chemical UV filters. It protects …Read more

Sunscreen - EltaMD - UV Elements Broad-Spectrum SPF44 Tinted

4.0

Dec/24/2017

This goes on a *little scary* with my neutral but fair-toned skin...but once I’ve rubbed it in properly, it does look nice. If you find this to be too much color when applied in the requisite 1/4 teaspoon amount, try applying a non-tinted SPF first as your main sunscreen, then apply a lighter layer of UV Elements over top. The other EltaMD tinted SPF I tried was way too dark and orangey; this one …Read more

Lip Gloss - Neutrogena - Hydro Boost Hydrating Lip Shine

I really thought this was going fo be a 1-lippie review, based on the first tube/shade I purchased...I’m glad I gave this product a second chance. I initially purchased the shade ‘Radiant Rose’ and it was terrible! Gloopy-thick, overly opaque, sticky, and just not a flattering shade on my skin tone. However, after seeing Dr. Dray review the ‘Soft Blush’ color on youtube, I decided to give it …Read more

Highlighters - BECCA - Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed Highlighter - Moonstone

2.0

Dec/14/2017

Doesn’t even show up on my skin...I have to build up a thick layer to see any effect whatsoever, and then it just looks cakey. For reference, my skin tone is fair to light, but looks almost medium in the summer. I have the Becca liquid highlighter too, and it does not show up at all. I would strongly suggest keeping your receipt for this one, because this is a very pointless product to keep …Read more

Cleansers - Yes To - Yes To Cucumbers Daily Gel Cleanser

4.0
Created with Sketch.

Nov/21/2017

If you’re looking for a Fresh Soy Cleanser dupe...this is perfectly okay. There are some very close similarities and also a few differences. Specifically:
- The scent is practically identical to Fresh, although IMO the Fresh scent is stronger overall and just a teeeeny bit more rosey than Yes To. The Yes To scent is a bit more cucumber-y than Fresh, and milder in general; if, like me, you …

Gels/ Soaps - LUSH - Respect Your Elders

1.0

Nov/21/2017

I’m glad I got this as a free mini size, because I wouldn’t even buy it if I found this at Dollar Tree. First of all, it smells very heavy and exactly like two things: natural cough syrup/cough drops, and cheap potpourri from the dollar store. Not all elderberry/elderflower scents are so cheap and perfumey, so IDK why Lush went that route. Second of all, for a low-lathering soap, it sure is …Read more

Lotions/ Creams - Vaseline - Intensive Care Deep Moisture Vaseline Jelly Cream

4.0
Created with Sketch.

Nov/05/2017

Let me preface this review by saying, I would (personally) not recommend applying this cream over areas prone to acne or clogged pores. Petroleum jelly is an occlusive product, meaning it works by trapping moisture (and also sebum, sweat, bacteria, etc) underneath itself. Petroleum jelly isn’t the *only* ingredient here, but it makes up a large percentage of this cream. Anyway, moving …Read more

Misc Beauty Tools - Unlisted Brand - Salux Nylon Japanese Bath Towel

5.0

Jul/10/2017

I use these for my body only (NOT my face). I just reordered another 3 pack. At less than $4 each, these things are just as cheap as any bath pouf or loofah, but they are sooo much better, IMO. I just get a better "scrub" and can really, really exfoliate my skin with these. I actually prefer them over sugar/salt body scrubs, which I often feel just dry out my skin while simultaneously …Read more

Treatments (Face) - Paula's Choice - RESIST C15 Super Booster

2.0

Jul/10/2017

I used to love this serum and swore I would buy it forever, but the last 2 bottles I purchased (and have since used up) were disappointing. The quality has taken a nosedive, and many recent reviews - even the ones on Paula's own website - have verified my suspicions. First, the last 2 bottles I purchased didn't seem to be doing *anything* for my skin (even when they were freshly opened …Read more

Mascara - Almay - Intense i-Color Blue

1.0

Jul/05/2017

C/P of my review on the black version of this mascara, because I also bought the blue: Literally the worst mascara I've ever used. It takes many coats to even SEE any product on my lashes. Fine print on the package even suggests 25 strokes to get volume! TWENTY FIVE! When I build it up enough to see that I have mascara on, it promptly makes my eyelashes stick together in big clumps, no …Read more
