Shampoo - L'Oreal Paris - Elvive Anti-dandruff - Dry hair

I actually like this shampoo. I have the 2 in 1 anti dandruff bottle, and for 4c hair that needs gentle care, this bottle does the weekly job. I then follow up with a deep conditioner, but I really like this. I chose this for its "gentle" marketing strengths, and find myself returning to it in the cupboard when I want to have a 2 in 1 that is not too harsh. Poundland seems to stock …Read more

Shampoo - L'Oreal Paris - Elvive Nutri-Gloss shampoo

I really like this shampoo. It is *surprisingly* good for natural afro hair (4c) due to its gentle creamy consistency and thickness.

I got this as a cast off from my little sister (typical!), and I had just finished with my Dove Intense repair shampoo. I wasn't expecting much success, and it really outshone its negative stereotype.

The scent is pleasant, the …

This is what my hair has been crying out for, for ages!

If you are a 4c'er, go get a bottle!

I am so impressed with this Dove intense repair shampoo, that it may become my go to from now on. Creamy, thick and nourishing, it supplies my super curly, coíly hair with all that it needs all year round. I am glad that I took the risk to get this one year in Asda for a …

Conditioner - L'Oreal Paris - Elvive Multi-Vitamins

Totally unsure about this conditioner. Got it at Savers in the UK for a pound on sale, and was quite excited about a vitamin containing conditioner.

I used it bi-weekly for cowashing, and I think that my hair took to it after a few washes, but the scent is really offputting.

The scent put me off totally halfway during the co-wash, and by the middle of the bottle, I was …

Foundations - Isadora - Sheer to Cover Foundation

Absolutely the best sheer to cover foundation available for black women, hands down! The range of complexions and the consistency of the all day wear colour is amazing with this brand. Good for the Swedes for making this stuff.

I got this at a local stall in the UK and only paid under 4 GBP for it. The foundation comes out of a nozzle that is quite controllable, which is good for …

Styling Products - Boots - Essential Curl Cream

Amen! finally a good product at a great price that is also useful for afro hair!

This styling cream is actually one of the best if not the best for my shoulder length natural afro-caribbean hair, and do you know what? It is available (for once) on the high street for under 2GBP.

For twist outs after cowashing, it is the business for 4c'ers. The newer formula (2011/2012 …

Conditioner - Garnier - Sleek & Shine Conditioner

I ran out of my wonder conditioner Garnier Triple Nutrition (GTN) with all of the oils etc, and then when I went back to the shop to get it, they didn't have any more at all :( So I picked this one up and proceeded to use it in the same way as I had used the above mentioned conditioner.

For cowashes, it is good, not as great as GTN but it is still very moisturising. The …

THIS STUFF IS LEGENDARY! All of you 4C hair ladies need to realise that the big players are not all against us... this was made for our dry curly hair according to the advertisment in Europe, and that is fine with me. This stuff is like vitamins in a bottle, and it is silicone free too.

After shampooing this conditioner works well as a wash out, leave in or as a deep conditioner …

Shampoo - Dove - Damage Therapy: Daily Moisture with Micro Moisture Serum

This product is really good. Yes it has sulphates in it and possibly cones, but it is good at smoothing my natural afro hair down. Although I have the conditioner as well, I rarely use them together because they offer different things to my hair.

The scent is heavenly. The shampoo does not strip my hair as much as other conditioners, but it is good. When I use it I believe that my …

I really like this conditioner and the accompanying shampoo. I was trying the no-sulphate & no -cones regime, but my hair needed some thorough cleansing from time to time and this one came through perfectly.

The texture is creamy and thick. You don't need too much to cover your hair and scalp, but I do use a lot when I use it because afro-caribbean hair can get quite dry in …
