I cannot recommend this powder enough; it is actually the one and only mattifying powder I can really rely on for removing shine from my combination skin. It has a sublime pinky tone to it but does not add colour or coverage over my makeup. The only reason for the four lippies is the packaging: you actually have to buy a separate case for it and the refills don't come with a brush or puff …Read more
I don’t find this powder to be mattifying. It is very finely milled and lightweight indeed, but does not mattify my T-zone at all. The packaging is counterproductive and adds to my dislike (a plastic box, a separate lid with overly big holes, and no puff). Everytime I use it, I get a big cloud of powder all over the place and end up inhaling most of it.
I also own the Jane Iredale pressed …Read more
I was sadly disappointed by this product. On the pros side, it is indeed matte and stays on well all day (I’m not the kind of person who would expect their foundation to stay immaculate from morning to night, at the same eliminating oil production – in fact, I would be too scared to use such a thing on my skin if it ever existed). Unfortunately, Perfection Lumiere oxidized on me, plus it broke me …Read more
I have relatively small and very deep set eyes and this is the only brush I can comfortably fit in my crease. It is very fluffy and soft and a real pleasure to use. Of course I would be happier if it was cheaper, but I am relying on MAC quality to last me a long time, with proper care of course.
This is one my most beloved foundations. I have been wearing it every day for years and every time I look for something new, I still come back to it in the end. It provides very good coverage, lasts long hours and has never irritated my sensitive skin. It is a very good match for my skin colour (I usually am 2.5 in winter and 3.5 in the summer), gives me a beautiful glow and does not accentuate …Read more
This liquid eyeliner delivers spectacular long lasting colour and makes you dream of extra glamorous eye looks. The reason for my poor rating, however, is that, to my infinite surprise, it actually instantly dries out my eyelashes! Immediately upon application my eyelashes turn into little scorched twigs, thus rendering it impossible to use mascara afterwards! I think it’s very strange; I’ve …Read more
This has already become my favourite undereye concealer. It’s lightweight (almost runny actually), very easy and pleasant to use and offers a surprisingly fresh and natural look - major asset for perpetually tired eyes. It makes my undereye area look soft, fresh and plump and gives a refined glow without emphasizing the puffiness I often tend to get (I do not have dark circle issues, but I have …Read more
I LOVE this pencil (and I have used a myriad brow products in my life)! Neither too stiff, nor too soft, extremely quick and easy to use and lasts all day with minimal flaking. It only needs sparse sharpening, so it lasts quite a long time. Deep Brown is, in my opinion, a very flattering choice for dark haired ladies. It also has a small angled brush on one end (the bristles are quite untamed …Read more
Being a huge fan of Dermalogica skincare for years, I was quite surprised to see them launch an essentially silicone makeup primer, making all sorts of intriguing promises about it. My experience with it has been quite frustrating. It is quite thick and lacks the beautiful slip silicones are supposed to impart. As for oil-control, my face starts getting that dreaded shine soon after makeup …Read more
