Glass skin! Who can resist a marketing term like that? The Koreans were all about the glass skin look a couple of years ago. (Apparently in 2019, the thing is now honey skin.) At my age, I doubt I can achieve clear glass, lol, but I don't mind trying to achieve smoother, less blotchy skin. I am already using a vitamin C serum in the morning, so I thought I'd give this a try at night …Read more

There was quite a bit of hype over this mask over on the makeup board when Ulta started carrying it. I forgot to look on the skin care board, but I resisted the siren song, until I had a prestige Ulta coupon burning a hole in my pocket. With a good discount, I thought I'd give it a try.

I find the product a little messy to use. The jar comes with a little spoon to scoop out product …

I don't do the philosophy microdelivery peel any more, but I'm still an exfoliating freak. When Beauty Pie offered this exfoliator, I wanted it immediately. This product came out about the same time the Peach & Lily Resurfacing Mask did. I bought that later, and will review separately.

The Fruitizyme mask is simple enough to use. It comes in a white standup tube. The …

Skincare - Body - Beauty Pie - Dr. Glycolic Soft Feet Peel Socks

You may know I am a Baby Foot freak. I've tried other peeling socks, but nothing beats Baby Foot. So when Beauty Pie came out with this equivalent, I was excited. They even compare their price, $2.72 (!), to the "typical price" of $25, which we all know is Baby Foot. So what the heck, I bought five of those puppies. I'm on #2 as we speak.

Pros:
--If you're …

Lipstick - ColourPop - Lux Lipstick - Creme

It's tricky to buy a lip color from ColourPop online. I like to see the colors in person. Who doesn't? So when they came out with a line of traditional lipstix, I wanted to buy but held off. Ulta started carrying some Lux Lipsticks in some brick-n-mortar stores. I chose Still Crazy, a fruit-punch rose cream, from the Ulta in Annapolis, MD. It goes on creamy and a little greasy. It wears …Read more

Cleansers - Nip + Fab - Glycolic FIX Foaming Pads

I love glycolic or alpha-hydroxy pads in the morning. I've tried a few brands. I was fortunate enough to find a jar of Nip + Fab Daily Glycolic Pads at a local Marshalls, and when it ran out I went back there for a replacement. I grabbed a jar, paid for it, and left. When I got home I realized I grabbed the "wrong" product. What I had bought was the Glycolic Foaming Pads. Rather …Read more

In my old age, I've become an exfoliating freak. The first step in my morning routine is wiping my face with a glycolic pad of some sort. I've tried a few brands, and this is among the best and cheapest. it is fairly gentle on my middle-aged skin. One pad is enough for my face and the backs of my hands. I put the juice on, let it sit for a minute while I take my daily medications, then …Read more

So far I've been liking the makeup and skin care from Beauty Pie, but this one is the turkey in the bunch. This week, I pondered maybe I was using it wrong. But after looking at the ingredients and the directions, I concluded it wasn't me, it was it. Since DHC Pore Cleansing Oil is my everyday oil, I wasn't used to using a solid cleansing balm, and I admit this is my only …Read more

So, Marcia Kilgore got this idea to offer high-end products in minimal packaging, with minimal advertising, to save us money. That's the premise of Beauty Pie (rhymes with "cutie pie"--get it? get it?!). It's a basic line with some interesting products. I thought I'd try a couple of lipstix. That's probably why I have so many lipstix--you can always gain entré to a …Read more

Disclaimer: I've never actually tried Laura Mercier cream eyeshadow stick. Odd, because that is considered to be the gold standard for this type of product. I did have a Sephora sharpenable eye crayon in a light matte pink that I used down to the last half-inch. Love that product, but wanted to try something different. So, here comes Marcia Kilgore with this idea to offer high-end products …Read more
