Primer/ Corrector - Mirenesse - Absolutely Smooth Treatment Primer

Standard liquid type primer with salicylate to smooth the skin. I much prefer siliconey/slippery primers but those sensitive to silicones might like this one. Again, nothing spectacular, makeup stays and doesn't slip off but it's no more than if I didn't use a primer anyways. Gives a bit of moisture, and is probably suitable for oily skin types even though it's not drying …Read more

I'm still a fan of the emulsion pact though I've strayed to many others in the course of the few years that I stopped posting reviews. This is a standard liquid foundation. Not as miraculous as it's advertised to be, certainly no outstanding "lifting" or plumping. It's a full-coverage foundation that spreads well, but the pump packaging is difficult to use, even when …Read more

Took a long time for me to get from LP Rose Illusion to ModelCo at different ends of the price spectrum, and finally to Smashbox. I must say that in terms of consistency this beats both LP and ModelCo handsdown. I have dehydrated combo skin, and need a bit of moisture in the dry Aussie climate even in summer. Smashbox doesn't feel as heavy as the Rose Illusion, comes in a user friendly pump …Read more

Lovely poppy-red cream blush, gives the perfect pop of coral to the cheeks. Best on a dewy foundation for a fresh-faced look. A little goes a long way, and it blends really well. This is the same formulation as when I bought Lokoum a few years ago (how time flies), but it doesn't feel quite as greasy for some reason. Standard NARS packaging where you have to worry about greasing up the …Read more

The glosses are of decent quality, being non-tacky and stay on quite well, but are far too drying (I always use an SPF balm underneath and I still found it drying) and sheer for my liking. The one I got looked absolutely divine, with Nectar, Guava, Amaretto, Mandarine and Bellini. All lovely shades but as I said too sheer to make an impact. Just because it's pricey doesn't mean …Read more

Got a sample of this with my Gloss order a couple months ago but didn't think to try it out. Huge surprise. I don't normally like things with tons of plant extracts but the orange seems to agree with me. It's not a "gentle" scrub per se, but I use microdermabrasion crystals with the Dermanew tool after dousing my skin in acid, so this works well for me as a physical …Read more

Lovely, lovely sheer pink with shimmer, slightly warmer than Starlette, which I missed out on, but not gritty at all. I use this over Tickled Pink for the perfect pink shimmer. My lips are pretty pigmented so sheer glosses don't usually show up to my liking. I probably wouldn't use this alone as it is too sheer, but if it weren't I'd repurchase just to pair it with Tickled …Read more

I like glosses with a bit more color, and this is the sort of pigment I'd expected from Starlette, which was far too sheer. With Cry Baby over the top, it's the perfect shimmery pink. Maybe they'll come up with one lip gloss that has both qualities. Now, back to the color - this is an opaque, cool pink with a bit of mauve, and minimal shimmer. Very soft and feminine. If it …Read more

I got Reveal, a deep berry red closing in on bronze, and Unveil, the iridescent pink. Well, I was surprised it was so soft and spongy, though I'd read the reviews. I was using the Sofina cheek mousses before and was expecting a drier mousse that goes to a powder finish immediately. I guess I was disappointed. Both colors wear well, but are still a tad greasy for my liking. Unveil is a really …Read more

I loved this set as I'd tried Melon on its own and wanted the other glosses in the same color family without buying the full size. Strawberry doesn't look that different on the lips than Melon though, but my lips are pretty pigmented so it may not show. My guess is I will never need to repurchase since I'll never finish it. The repurchase option is kind of misleading as it can mean …Read more
