EDIT 2014-04-12: This is a good foundation, still. I don't use it anymore because there are no matching shades. I lowered the rating to 4/5 because I have found other foundations that perform better, which makes me slightly less impressed with this, especially considering the price.

EDIT 2013-03-26: I don't use this anymore because of my skin tone changing and this is way too pink for me now. Also, my skin quality changed, so my foundation needs have changed. I now use MAC Pro Longwear concealer as a foundation, NC15 mixed with Illamasqua Skin Base in White, 50/50. Sometimes I use YSL Touche Eclat foundation in the lightest shade, mixed with white. I also like MAC Studio Sculpt. This is still a good foundation and I still use it from time to time.

I'm pale and it's not easy to find shades that match me, especially since we don't have the brands that the people in USA take for granted, like Illamasqua, MUFE and Nars.

The closest match I have found is MAC Studio Sculpt in NC15, though their other foundations in NC15 are too dark for me. What also works for me is L'Oréal True Match foundation in C1 and Shiseido Dual Balancing Foundation in Very light ivory. I was never fully satisfied with any of them, as MAC Studio Sculpt made me break out, Shiseido's didn't last and L'Oréal's didn't cover enough.

Now to the review;
I have never before tried a foundation from Lancome, but gave it a chance because of the wide shade range. I obviously purchased the lightest shade, 005, which is slightly pink and little too dark (let's say I'm NC05 and this is NW15), but still good when I mix it with MAC Face and body in White or Illamasqua Skin Base in White.
005 is the palest and cool toned, and the next lightest shade is 01, which is darker and more yellow.
Beware, when you swatch the foundation, it will oxidize a little and turn a little darker - it did on me. Just wanted to say this.

It smells a bit like roses but you don't notice it as you work it into your skin. I prefer using a stippling brush for this. I use two-three pumps to cover my whole face and a bit of my neck. It is light yet its coverage is amazing. I've had the worst time of my life because of acne and it has left some red moderate scars which this foundation covers well. I don't even need concealer.

The finish is satin, doesn't look flat and doesn't emphasize imperfections on me. It lasts all day, from the moment I put it on to the moment I wash it off. I have worn this for as long as 18 hours, and it stays on - it doesn't look exactly the same but it has not lost its coverage, which is amazing after 18 hours. During the summer my cheeks are dry but nose oily, and I will powder my nose 2 times during the 18 hours. In the winter my skin is very, very dry and this doesn't emphasize dryness, which is great because almost all foundations make me look drier.

It is quite expensive but I think foundation is one of those things where you actually get what you pay for. It's easier to find good lipsticks or eyeliners at lower prices, but higher end foundations usually have a wider shade range and better quality, though this doesn't mean there aren't any good drugstore foundations.
