I bought this bar soap for myself at first because I needed it with a skin regimen I was using (but am no longer on). I stopped using it for my face because my skin doesn't tolerate salicylic acid much. However, this review is moreso for my husband, who now uses this bar soap in the shower and loves it! His skin tolerates salicylic and responds quite well to it rather than me. I have to say that it's rather improved the look of his skin. He doesn't break out as much now when he uses it, and it seems to be keeping the breakouts at bay, and healing existing pimples. It also has a nice lather - although when I used it, I felt like it left a noticeable film on my face and I had to use a separate face wash to get it off. Maybe that's just me. Anyway, the price is higher than I would expect from a bar soap. I paid about $8.50 - $9.00 for it at my local Long's Drugs. But the bar lasts for a couple weeks from daily use and if it works, then the price isn't a major factor in my book. The packaging is also very masculine. But it works for my husband. So, from my husband's point of view - two thumbs up for this one.

This bar soap was a very pleasant surprise - I actually first got it as a small sample with a drugstore.com order, and not realizing it was meant as a body soap, I started using it on my face. (I normally use it after cleansing first with Laventine oil cleanser.) Amazingly, it is pretty gentle - I can even use it around my eyes without irritating them. Plus it keeps my skip bump-free and clean, without overdrying. If you have dry skin I would not recommend it, it is certainly not moisturizing, but my skin is fairly oily and during the summer this soap was very effective in getting my skin clean without irritating it - I've never had such a good experience with bar soap before. Bravo OXY! Now you just have to get it into the local drugstores - right now I have to order it through drugstore.com. (p.s. I've started using it with my Clarisonic, and between the two of them, plus using Laventine, my skin is now perfectly smooth!)

I really like this bar soap. I use this in the shower every morning with a Buff Puff. I have oily, acne-prone skin, and this works really well at keeping my skin clear. It has 0.5 % salicylic acid which is enough to be effective, but yet not so much that it would cause peeling or excessive dryness or any kind of irritation. I use this on my face, neck and back. It leaves skin feeling squeaky clean, and I've noticed that in addition to being more clear and acne-free, my skin also seems to be getting more even-toned (not so blotchy or uneven/red in places anymore - I don't even wear foundation anymore, just powder and blush and maybe a dab of concealor over any stray zit that might show up). Overall, since starting to use this soap every morning, my skin is looking much nicer - more clear and even-toned. I'm very happy with it and will purchase again. :) .... Oh, and one more thing, I can only find this soap to purchase at Wal-mart and Drugstore.com. It's about $6.00 for a good size bar that smells nice (fresh and gender-neutral despite the masculine packaging) and lasts a long time. Lathers up really well too. :)

Got this because of the good reviews on drugstore.com. I have been suffering from some body acne this summer, localized on my upper back/shoulders--annoying as heck since it prevents me from wearing the flimsy little tops that make the hot weather semi-bearable. I tried the Nature's Cure body acne spray but it wasn't working for me (I re-read the directions and discovered that you might have to apply the stuff up to 3x/day, which is nuts. Who has time to do that everyday?) so I thought I'd try this salicylic acid soap. The packaging is hideous (and why ARE all acne products inevitably in the loudest, most eye-catching packaging possible?) and the soap is strangely a light gray color, but the fragrance is actually really pleasant (despite the "Extreme Alpine" promise)--sweet and kinda fresh but not eye-wateringly so. This gives a nice, creamy lather and rinses well. You're left with literally squeaky-clean skin, so maybe this stuff is not idea for those with sensitive skin. But I have tough, combination skin that's as oily as a grease trap during the hot months and the slightly stripped feeling doesn't bother me at all. I've used this on my face and body without a problem for the past month or so and while my face is still not in great shape, my back-ne seems to have cleared up. That's okay by me, though. One out of two ain't so bad.
