My initial impression was 'oriental,' Screamingly so. Then I got the hit of fruits and it was pretty, juicy fruits with the metallic tang of cedar. Very jewelry box (bright colors, shiny metals and cedar all together). It dried down to its initial promise though and ended up oriental. Not a bad one, but nothing I'll ever wear.

It's a good scent-- a bit unique, sweet, elegant, and young. It is fruity, and for me, the scent changes a bit throughout the day (but it smells good even as it changes). I guess that depends on the wearer's body chemistry, etc. It is not the most long-lasting scent, but I'd buy again. It is appropriate for somebody in my age group.

What makes this perfume different is its base. Matsushima perfumes rely on something called "crystal musk" to support all the other, somewhat more typical notes. The base smells synthetic, clean, metallic, and totally devoid of the warm woods and skin accords that make Western fragrances so reassuring yet predictable. Without this heavy embrace, Masaki Masaki has something new to …Read more

I received this perfume in a swap. It smells like a clean fruity floral. It actually smells like a lot of the perfumes out today. To me it smells just like touch of pink by lacoste. It does not smell bad it is a good summer perfume but there is nothing different or new about it. I would wear it but I don't think I would buy it again.

Love love love this scent!!! I'm normally a white floral kinda gal and in reading the notes on sephora.com (mossy woods), I thought to myself, why would i want to smell like leaves or damp soil? But Masaki/masaki is hardly that at all! The top notes that I can tell are litchi and apples - it's sweet, but not like Aqualino sickeningly sugary kind of sweet, it's more fresh and floral …Read more

I love love love this scent on me. I'm not good at describing notes but it smells like apples to me. Like a floral fiji apple. It totally works for my body chemistry and it lasts a long time too. I work 12 hour shifts and at the end of the day, I can still smell it and it's strong.. in a good way. It especially lingers on my clothes and it smells heavenly.

A sweet floral with hints of green and lychee.. I love this fragrance, but it doesn't last on me. :(

I tried this yesterday and I just love it! On me, this scent is a fruity, fresh, sophisticated floral. It smells like what candy flowers would smell like if they existed lol. As this scent mellowed, it got warmer and more complex, and even more delicious. I know I have to have a scent when I keep sniffing my arm all day, and this is a definite arm-sniffer!

I was surprised at how much I liked this. It's not that it's a terribly complex scent. I can imagine a beauty editor would describe it as pretty boring. But despite that, I still really like the fragrance. It's really really pleasant, clean and bright, and there's nothing about it to dislike. I just love it! I'm not sure how to describe the smell, but whatever notes …Read more

Florals aren't usually my thing. But upon sampling this one, I could NOT stop sniffing my wrist and arm! There is no sharp, piercing note that some white floral blends have. Masaki is a bit warmer and smoother than most without being powdery. Not too heavy on the mossy woods mentioned in the notes. It may be a short love affair, but I am really enjoying it while it lasts! Mat has very odd …Read more
