Works great for oily, itchy scalp and/or dandruff. I personally find that it doesn't quite cleanse or rinse out of my hair very well. The next day I've noticed that my scalp and hair feels good, but I definitely feel a residue coating my hair (I'm assuming it's the pine tar oil ). Anyhow, I just mixed it with a little of my regular shampoo, and problem solved. I …Read more

I really like this soap. The smell... yeah. LOL. It smells like day old bacon grease and rubber tires. I had to leave my bathroom door open to get the smell to a somewhat manageable level but it dies down after 24 hours, thankfully. The smell doesn't stay on you after you wash with it, though if you use it as a shampoo, you might notice it lingering a little bit. If the scent bowls you over …Read more

Just Amazing how effective is this cheap product!

I was using it as a child - back in Russia it was readily available in every store and it was so cheap! I thought that I would never be able to find it in the US, however I was lucky! I stumbled upon this miracle product in Rodman's, it was relatively inexpensive compared to the products that I was buying before and which did …

I discovered this product years ago!!! It cleans EVERYTHING!!! You can literally wash dishes with it...perfect camping item, so Im told. I love it for my oily, acne ridden skin as well as for any type of rash or irritated skin that happens along. It's also great for scalp irritations, includinfg dandruff and for a clarifying hair wash before deep conditioning.

This is a fantastic soap for cleaning. For smelling? Not so much... I've heard people say you get used to the smell... but if I go into the bathroom after someone has been using it, I feel like I've been punched in the nose by hot tar on a summer day. Let's be clear.. the soap does not leave a smell on your body. That would intolerable. But it does louse up your bathroom something …Read more

Wow--this soap is great. I have been using for a week now as my regular products just seem to be too harsh. Using the Pine Tar by GrandPa my skin is 75% softer and incredibly less dry--the difference is very noticeable. I have just ordered 4 more bars. I use it on my face and it is remarkable how much my skin has improved.

I have tried many cleansing products targeted for sensitive/rosacea/acne prone skin and most leave me feeling dry and/or break me out afterwards. The pine tar soap does a great job at cleaning the skin, while not over-drying. I also believe it helps with breakouts. I have just recently purchased several bars because it is dirt cheap!!

This cleared up my acne, plain and simple. Everything I was using stopped working, and I began getting cysts again. I bought this just to make my skin soft and ward off mosquitoes, but I figured I'd use it on my face too. Within three days my overall skin texture looked great, not as bumpy. My cysts were still there but they were drying up. Anyway, my skin is completely clear now. It …Read more

For anyone dealing with PUPPS or other pregnancy-related, itchy, nightmare rashes.... This is amazing stuff! It smells weird--like burning wood--but it gives a few hours of relief from the itching. I had the best luck with using a washcloth to apply it to my skin & then just letting it sit there for 10-15 minutes before washing it off.

The other odd thing that helped the …

Great for dandruff and scaly skin (I use only in winter). Nuff said.
