If you live in an area with low humidity, this product will rock your world. If you don't, simply stated, it won't.

My hair situation background: long hair to between shoulderblades, uncut in 2-1/2+ years, fine and straight, some damage on ends but not too bad. I use Rogaine and the "hair/skin/nails" vitamin supplement from Nature's Bounty, which have helped my hair immensely.

I picked up a bottle of Garnier's cream while I was on vacation in the drought-stricken, super-hot and unusually-non-humid Midwest. It worked like a charm: smoothed my hair, made it look super-soft, conditioned it well, completely met the "fight frizz for 48 hours" claim on the bottle. I was thrilled.

But then I came home to the Deep South, where extreme humidity is a way of life. And, alas, this cream doesn't cut it. I have to go back to either Clairol LTR Leave-in or the less-effective Infusium leave-in. Too bad, so sad for me, but if you live in a dry clime this stuff is fabulous. (I'm no fan of the fragrance but the cream more than does the dry conditions.) So 3 lippies overall cuz it ain't Garnier's fault that I live in a swamp.....

I have been using nothing but John Frieda Hair Serum for the last 10 years or so because I just couldn't find a product that worked on my hair. I have blond hair with brown underneath. The blond is bleached because tint is not strong enough to lift my base colour to a decent whitish blond shade. Despite the fact that I only ever get the regrowth done and I am careful not to colour over the existing blond, my hair has been stressed to the max! Serum keeps it looking decent and nothing else I have tried works! This product was a spur of the moment purchase. I really doubted that a cream product was going to work in my hair, especially since Moroccan Oil was a monumentally expensive failure! Anyway, I applied this to towel dried hair and immediately noticed how soft my hair felt. I set to work blow drying my hair straight and could see that it was working as well as the John Frieda and it was a great deal cheaper! The finished effect was fantastic. Soft, manageable hair. I applied a bit more over the top to the flyaways and was so impressed with the whole effect. Another claim they make that is similar to the John Frieda is that it stops the frizzies in humid weather. It is winter in Australia and I tested this by walking the dog in drizzly conditions. It didn't hold up entirely, but it did a much better job than the John Frieda product and my hair still looked pretty decent. I will continue to use this product.

I dont think this is as good as a salon leave-in (my fave is Redken Soft Ends) but it smells yummy and doesnt weigh my hair down. Im not sure how smoothing it is but for girls on a budget it is a reasonable leave-in. Probably will repurchase.
