Sad to say, I was excited for this.

With the cost of shipping and handling I shelled out $22 for a 2 ml bottle and thought nothing of it. I had been reading tons of reviews to find a scent that would remind me of a campfire, seeing great reviews for this in particular, I went for it. Honestly the smell just makes me think of Barbecue chips.

This fits its description. It starts off like a campfire and dries down to smoky sweetness mixed with each person's skin chemistry. My husband and I are avid campers, and though it's very rare I wear Burning Leaves--and when I do it's mostly around the house--I have a full bottle (the water-based spray) I spritz from time to time around the house to remind me that "camping …Read more

Another disappointment. I love the smell of bonfires and burning leaves. But for whatever reason, the burning smell generally just doesn't translate well in liquid form. For example, Ava Luxe's Kretek is supposed to smell like clove cigarettes, but it smells like dill pickles. This fragrance was supposed to smell like leaves burning, but it missed the mark. I tried this in both the …Read more

First off, I love this fragrance. Secondly, I'm afraid that everyone has written such beautiful descriptions that I won't have much more to add. Thirdly, however, my boyfriend asked me to warn people that Burning Leaves reminds him of scented plastic dolls from the 1980s. Fourthly, I'd like to respond that everyone should keep in mind this is a man who openly admits he has a yen …Read more

I just got my sample size absolute of this scent. When I first put it on, it definitely smelled like smoke, almost like mesquite. For a moment it had a slightly chemically scent, but thankfully, it went away in a moment. I can see how people say it smells a little like liquid smoke, but it's not nearly as pungent. For a few minutes, it smelled like cooking over a campfire. Upon …Read more

I'm afraid I also get fake liquid smoke. This is mixed with sugar, and while it's not dreadful, it's not what I recall burning leaves to smell like, maple or otherwise. Ah, well, I was excited to try it and thanks to the MUAer who generously let me! Too fakey to be true smoke and too plastic to be incense at any stretch.

This is not at all wearable to me. I don't even really get burning leaves from this -- It smells like a dead campfire. I also get Liquid Smoke that you use for cooking. Interesting, evocative smell that certainly takes me back to specific times and places, but I definitely don't want to smell like this.

This was instant love for me.
Burning leaves is an absolutely beautiful scent.
This is one of those things that I want to be able to smell forever.
It's also probably my husband's very favorite among all the perfumes I've made him smell on me.
It's not really that it's sexy or sensual, it's just beautiful, and real, and down to earth. If I ever …

You know the incense like stick you would light your firecrackers with as a child? This smells exactly like one of those after it is put out and still smoking. It is a rich, smoky, mildly incensey smell. It reminds me of bonfires in the fall where many leaves were on the fire. It is not the typical tobacco smoke or wood smoke that is in many smoky scents today. It is very unique. If worn …Read more

This does smell like burning leaves and a little charred wood, but it lacks the sweetness that I associate with burning *maple* leaves.
