I had a bottle of this an I loved it. It is sweet and spicy an interesting scent that you don't typically come across. The only thing I noticed as time went on was that it kind of smells like a Chai Latte from Starbucks, lol. Once I realized that, I couldn't wear it again. Its an interesting one for me it just got a little common when I made the Chai latte association.

Safran Troublant is one of Olivia Giacobetti's beautiful fragrances. Although all of Ms. Giacobetti's fragrances are light, well balanced, almost ethereal, Safran Troublant is a little too sweet for my taste. Although it is beautiful and bekons to be worn more in fall/winter rather than in summer. The rose in this is magnificiant .. along with the saffron notes. However, you should …Read more

Despite of its name (safran = saffron) well, I do not get the spices here.
The opening is fruity, but the rose, powdery but fresh, takes the main role.
It's a delightful floral scent, constructed on a heart of rose, with milky accent. Comforting, elegant.
It's a sheer juice, easy to wear and transparent.
Like many other L'Artisans, it is quite fleeting and has …

Very pretty fragrance. I love the vanilla and rose notes, there really is a creamy sweet quality with a lovely fresh rose note. The only problem on my skin is the spice. The saffron is very strong on me at the beginning, and there's a cumin note that comes through that makes it all smell off on me. Through the day it becomes a very transparent and soft fragrance. Overall nice but not my …Read more

This scent is absolutely delicious. I'm not a huge fan of gourmand fragrances but Safran Troublant is heavenly. It reminds me of my favorite saffron and rose petal ice cream; sweet, creamy, with a hint of spice. I'm in love.

I'm loving this! The saffron is present in the opening and slowly fades to a nice blend of spices. I feel transported somewhere warm and exotic - and during the New England winter, that is just the thing I need!

I have always wondered why so may people dislike cumin and saffron in their fragrances. The vanilla, rose, saffron accord is fabulous. It's pretty but just a little weird which suits me beautifully.
Note - the sillage is medium and this will last at least 8 hours on the skin. I prefer this in temperatures under 80 degrees.

Like others below, I find myself surprised to like this so much. I nearly didn't order a sample because-- saffron? But the reviews intrigued me. I didn't test it right away. Initial reaction was, yep, it's saffron. But then . . . I just couldn't stop sniffing it. Perhaps I should not be this surprised -- previously into florals I've lately come to love Chergui …Read more

At the top I smell mostly cinnamon and a bit of strange curry (is this the saffron?), which fades quickly. The cinnamon lingers a bit longer, and after a few minutes I do smell a bit of rose. It continues to evolve into a sweet, creamy scent, reminiscent of rice pudding with a touch of cinnamon, very comforting and gourmand. I love it, but it seems to be fading rather quickly (only a couple hours …Read more

A very spicy fragrance, with good lasting power and more sillage than any other L'artisan perfume I've tried. Spicy but also somewhat dry and slightly sweet, it trully matches the gold color of the bottle: sparkling and exuberant. Not a perfume I'd love to wear every day, but would love to have on my dresser.
