Stay away from this product if you have dry skin!Ps. I use effaclar duo before applying this product. My skin is a combination of dry/sensitive/oily it really depends on the season and which country I am in. But mostly it is acne prone and OILY at the t zone with my cheeks and near my chin dry. This product really soaks up the oils you can feel it. It's awesome to use it as a "primer" since it control the oils and also helps the acne go away at the same time. However I like using this product on my forhead and on my nose if I use it on my cheeks it will feel dry. Results: after a week of using it, the pores on my nose looked smaller and tighter my forhead also feels tighter. I've known and used this product for 3 years. I stopped using it for a while because it made my skin very dry around cheeks. So I just use it where I'm oily.

This product smells nice, has a nice smooth texture and sinks into the skin well. The packaging is nice too. But, like so many expensive products, this made my skin break out. I have very oily skin and I wasn't expecting it to make much of a difference to the oil (and it doesn't) but I was hoping it would improve the overall texture and quality of my skin, especially my enlarged pores. It had no positive effects, but as I say, it clearly clogs my pores because every time I use it I break out. The most effective skin care products for me are a gel moisturiser (Garnier's are good) and benzoyl peroxide.

I have sensitive, fair, oily skin, and I LOVE this moisturizer! I'm about to buy my third tube of it. I use about a dime-size amount to cover my entire face; any more, and it doesn't mattify as well. After I let it dry down, my makeup goes on so smoothly! My skin is like porcelain! I would buy this over and over again. Zero scent, zero irritation, zero complaints.

IF YOU OWN THIS PRODUCT AND YOU HAVE SENSITIVE SKIN AND U HAVENT USED IT YET THROW IT AWAY. I just was givin a free sample because the lady said it was good for sensitive skin I washed my face with the matching cleanser, toned my face with Vichy 3 in 1, and than applied my topical treatment, when I put the moisturizer on my face started to burn so much I kept in on for a couple minutes thinking the burning would stop. It didn't and now my face hurts and im searching up what to do for a burned face .

This is the best best best BEST moisturizer i have EVER used....and i have used A LOT. This is the only moisturizer that does NOT provoke my acne or clog my pores. I have combination skin and sometimes I require a moisturizer when my skin gets dried out due to some of the harsh products I use on my face. This DOES mattify, however, note that if you have oily skin, no matter what moisturizer you use, your face will eventually get oily toward the end of the day. This is also a GREAT MAKEUP BASE - if i apply makeup directly to my face without a moisturizer/primer, my face looks dry and patchy; if I use any other moisturizer than this one, my face looks very shiny/greasy, however, when i use this moisturizer, my face looks matt for many hours. My only negative is the price point for the amount you get, however, I will not and cannot use any other moisturizer, so it is definitely worth it to buy every other month.

I have combination to oily skin and use to switch between LRP Effaclar Mat and Bioderma Pore Refiner under my foundation. LRP I prefer in winter days as it moisturizes my skin quite well during the day (of course I need serum moisturizer in the evening, but for day it is enough moisture for my skin). It keeps my skin shine-free during the day (I need to use blotting paper afternoon only on my forehead, which is great for me:) Also the price is reasonable for the quality, so i will re-purchase this product probably.

This doesn't keep me matte not even for 2 hrs. It dries my skin and makes it itchy. Dissapointed.

The irony is this is both the best and WORST moisturiser I have ever used. I first came across this stuff when I received a free sample. My skin is super oily with large pores and I have searched my entire adult life for a HG moisturizer that controls oil, reduces pores and helps with blemishes. When I first tried this stuff I was really happy with the results, my skin was matte and velvety with obviously tightened pores and it managed to keep my skin shine free for much longer than anything else I have tried. So of course I rushed out to purchase a full size tube and continued using this dream product for a very long time. Sadly, I did not realize this product is full of pore-clogging ingredients and slowly but surely (over the course of about a year) I developed the worst acne I have ever experienced in my life. During that time I never realized that it was this moisturiser that was causing these painful, deep boil like pimples on my cheeks. The pimples left behind deep dark scars on my face (which I’m currently trying to reduce) and my cheeks are now dotted with “holes”. Anyway, as soon as I stopped using this moisturiser my skin began clearing up significantly. I went back to it briefly because i tried a few other brands of moisturiser and found that even though I had zero breakouts I was back to the oil slick situation by lunchtime. During my brief return to Effaclar mat, the deep painful zits began resurfacing. So I have learnt my lesson the hard way and have the (hopefully not permanent) scars to show for it. The next product I’m going to try is Sebium Pore Refiner by Bioderma, I really hope it works for me! I also recently tried Avene Anti-shine regulating emulsion, which is a pretty good product (it keeps shine at bay and did not break me out), but sadly this product balled up badly when I applied my liquid foundation so not much use for a regular make up wearer like me…. And so my hunt continues for a HG moisuriser......

This is a great moisturizer for people with oily skin! It has a nice texture and sinks into your skin almost instantly. It has the same scent as other Effaclar products - which might bug some people, but I think the smell is mild and I quite like it. It definitely hasn't reduced the size of my pores, and I'm on my third tube - so I call bullshit on that claim. It keeps me matte all day long (unless obviously the weather is really humid and hot). Because I have combination skin, I only use this product in the mornings, and use a richer cream at night after using Effaclar Duo. Overall, I love this cream. I gave it 4/5 only because of the price, which is RIDICULOUS considering the small amount of product you get (I use it once a day and it lasts me about a couple months.)
Are you sure this product is discontinued?
