Color is a redish with pink undertones. When I feel like putting a bit more color on my face (preferably during summer or fall) I apply this. Has a little shimmer and is really easy to wear. Decent product but not sure If I would buy this again.

A friend showed up at work with with the perfect frosted, reddish fuchsia Winter lip! What? Where? When? How much? Her answer: "Ummm, I grabbed it out of a bin at the grocery store." Seriously?! Sigh. You MUA'ers understand my pain. When she got home she texted me a photo of the bottom of the lipstick and off I went. This surfaced in the discount part of the drug store for $2.69. This makes it officially the cheapest item of makeup in my house. I've bought sharpeners more expensive than this. The packaging is cheap and fiddly. The lipstick sticks way out of the top of the tube so I've already made a mess with the cap. And it is the perfect frosted dark fuchsia winter lipstick. It nestles in between my matte bright Besame Red, my dark burgundy NARS pencil and doesn't go as far to pink as that perfect Spring Chanel lippie. On me the frost isn't too aging, the pink is dark and rich and not too bright. The texture is lovely and moist and it lasts a good few hours. It says, "I'm celebrating the season, it's a winter wonderland, but I'm not trying too hard."I've been schooled.

I remember wearing NYC ultra moist lipsticks years ago (Sheer Red and Retro Red were my faves) and I decided to get Ruby because one reviewer mentioned it's a knock off for MAC's New York Apple and I'd say that's accurate. It's a pink/red with a frost finish but nothing garish like frosted lipsticks in the 70's and 80's. It applies very well without tugging or pulling and the finish does feel nice on the lips. I agree that the packaging leaves something to be desired and as long as you're careful when you take off the lid and put it back on, there shouldn't be any problems with squishing the lipstick. The price point can't be beat either.

If you like to experiment with new lip shades, NYC lipsticks are your best bet. These lipsticks are easily available in the drugstore. They have excellent pigmentation, they offer a great value for your money, and they have a decent packaging. I bought a bunch of these in different shades: Retro Red, Ruby, Mocha, Chiffon, and Petal. Cost wise itís very cheap (under $3 Canadian with tax). As the name suggests ďultra moistĒ, itís quite moisturizing for my lips and I never had any issues of dried lips when I put the lipstick on. As far as the packing goes, I never had any issues but I read a lot of reviews where people were complaining about the packaging and breaking off the product while opening and closing it. I agree itís a bit difficult when you open it for the first time but all you have to do is be a little careful and not put too much pressure on the cap while opening/ closing it. I have been using this product for over a year now and never damaged my lipstick. All in all, I am happy with my purchase and would recommend to anyone.

I love this lipstick. I recently started wearing lipstick, and I was on the hunt for a moisturizing formula that wasn't too red, just a nice deep Ruby. This fits the bill to a t, and the price can't be outdone. I got mine for 99 cents at Walmart. The color is unbelievable and it applies super smooth and ultra moist, true to its name. Worth every penny and then some!UPDATE Oct26/14: I've fallen even more in love with this lipstick, simply because it's so moisturizing I don't have to worry if I forget lip balm. The color stays fairly long too, though I like to apply after eating just so I get that smooth sensation again! I forgot to mention before this lipstick also smells mouth-wateringly delicious! I will buy again and again!

This is a dark pink fuschia that leans towards red. I find it very wearable as most reds are too harsh on me. I think the shimmer is too much and I end up blotting. I think the formula is rather smooth and it lasts as a stain. Definitely a fun purchase for $.99.I probably wont use it all up. I love the idea of a red lip but I think I look more balanced when I allow my eyes to be darker.

I actually took this lipstick from my sister and I loved the color so much, she gave me hers and I also bought a new one for myself. I'm a girl who loves bold lips and dark lips and this lipstick makes for a great bold lip. The color for me depends on the number of swipes, one or two swipes comes off as a reddish-fuschia with the slightest bit of gold specks and an extra swipe definitely comes off more reddish and the gold is is much more visible. My skin tone is light-medium, leaning more towards the lighter side and I didn't feel like the color washed me out even though I have the habit of reapplying my lipstick frequently(trying to break that habit) and I tend to put on more than I need. Yes I agree packaging isn't that great, but the product itself is amazing and I definitely recommend!

LOVE this lipstick! One of my all time favorite reds! Super sparkly and VERY moisturizing. The price is super reasonable, too. Only problem is it doesn't last very long, which is to be expected for the price. But it's something that as soon as I'm out I'll be going out to buy again!

I don't know why everyone is saying this is a pink tone. for my skin tone (NC 25) It worked perfectly and came out as a bright red. I loved the gold sparkles.

I was completely thrown off by the name of this lipstick and actually expected it to be red, instead of the hot, fuschia pink it ended up being. I swear, this was so bright on me that you could see my lips from space. LOL I tossed it immediately and would never re-buy it.
