I'd tried this as an alternative to Paul Mitchell Shampoo Two, which had been my clarifying shampoo of choice for years. l liked that it's sulfate-free and formulated for color-treated hair. My hair is fine and oily, so I use a clarifying shampoo once a week. Like other Pureology shampoos, it's relatively expensive. Overall, this does a good job of clarifying--so much so, it leaves my hair feeling and looking a bit like straw. My hair is usually healthy and not at all dry. After using this, it is difficult to detangle and I can definitely feel a difference in its texture. It smells like herbs (mint/thyme/rosemary with a hint of a medicinal scent, if I had to guess) and lathers nicely for a SLS-free shampoo, which I do like. The scent might be a bit much for people who don't really like herbal or earthy scents.I've liked other shampoos in the Pureology line, but I'm going back to Paul Mitchell Shampoo Two.

There is hard water in my area and I co-wash regularly so I wanted to purchase a clarifying shampoo to use occasionally. This shampoo had good reviews so I purchased it. It cleanse the hair very well and gets rid of build-up. If I used it too often it was quite drying to my curly hair. I found it was sufficient to use this shampoo once a month to every six weeks. This way I got rid of hard water build-up without drying out my hair. It is very thin and consistency and has a slightly medicinal smell. I have now found a holy grail shampoo that cleanses my hair without drying it out so I won't repurchase but I did find this product helpful when I was co-washing more regularly.

I bought this to replace my Paul Mitchell clarifier, which did a great job of getting my hair squeaky clean, but also stripped my color. I liked my other Pureology products so I decided to give this a go.I have a rotation of this shampoo with Hydrate Light conditioner, the Hydrate shampoo with Hydrate Light conditioner, and Malibu C scalp shampoo with their hard water conditioner. I shampoo every other day, generally, and rotate through each combo and it keeps my scalp healthy and my ends from being fried, without build up or stripping color. This definitely gets the job done. It only takes a nickel size for my bra-strap length hair. I spread it around and add some water to get it lathering. You don't need more! It will suds right up, just keep adding water. It is slightly drying, I think, but I follow with conditoner and my hair ends up looking great.Very pleased with this purchase!

This does a decent job of removing mineral deposits from my hair. However, it leaves my cuticle rouged up afterwards, which is easily remedied with a good conditioner BUT it does strip my demi permanent hair color a bit. There are other shampoos which remove buildup as well without leaving my hair roughed up, don't strip the color, and come at much more reasonable prices. ( Joico k-pak chelating & Ion well water shampoo come to mind here). This is a cheap shampoo in a fancy bottle & far too expensive for not being color safe.

I hate this shampoo. It leave hair matted and dry. You actually feel like you just beached hair 3 times in a row! Also the cost. $25 is a joke. And finally.... This clarifying contains the very silicones I am trying to remove! I was quite annoyed to discover amodimethicone in this shampoo. Save your money. Suave and V05 are better and don't mat the hair in my opinion. I mix those nice cheap ones with a little Ultra Swim for a simple and affordable clarify/chelating mixture. If you are looking for sulfate free clarify/chelateshampoo there is Itely and others. The Pureology is just yuck. Can't stress enough how much I dislike this product.

If your color fades easily, you want sulfate free shampoo - seems like there's tons of those on the market now - but not many sulfate free clarifying shampoos - this is one and it works great - it really removes all the build up - kinda smells like rosemary and leaves the hair squeaky clean!!

I hate, hate, hate this shampoo! O.M.G what a waste of money. I cant even figure out how anyone could possibly like this. It doesnt smell nice, nor does it lather really well. It doesnt lather well because once put anywhere in my hair it turns those hairs into a matted, knotted mess and the product cant spread throughout my hair.I thought that it just was bad for my hair type but i also tried it on both my kid's hair and even suggested it to my husband to try because he has an oily scalp. It didnt favour anyone and we all had yucky, tangled hair.Ive also tried using the smoothing shampoo and condiotioner from purology after to replace moisture but the results were still bad. If your looking for a clarifying shampoo i'd suggest trying the redken cleansing cream or joico's chelating shampoo, they are gentle on the hair but still clean very, very well leaving hair silky, shiny and swingy. This stuff right here left my hair looking like i had just fried it with bleach and it looked bad and was unmanagable for many days after.

This shampoo is great... my hair was very dull from so much chlorine build up (i actually had to buy a shower filter due to so much chlorine in our water).. so my highlight were dull and not shiny... i put this on, massage it for 5 minutes and let it work for 15 min while i was chilling in the tub... i washed and condition... ohhh men!!! my highlits came back to life, and the smoothness.... incredibily shiny and sooooo soft... will definetely buy again... only down size is the price, nearly 30 bucks... but it does last for a loong time, almost a year for me.... so still worthed, even being pretty expensive... i higly recommend!!
