asphyxia is such a great colour for green eyes gals! it is a deep puprle with a wonderful blue sheen. i used this to line my lower lids, and i always get compliments on it. it really brings out the green in my eyes! i also use this as a crease colour when i wear UD's road stripe eyehadow, as its dark enough on me. i can't use very dark colours because my eyes are very set in, and this …Read more

I was very dissapointed with this color. It just looked so lovely, vibrant and radical in the pan, and came out so blah and pale in my eyelids. It was just another lilac e/s, it was really pale and without the *oomph* i was expecting. It is not eyecatching at all, and i find that is tones down after a couple of hours to a very very pale/greyish lavander. I can't see the blue sheen, except in …Read more

Asphyxia is a purple eyeshadow with a blue sheen. The eyeshadow looks great in the pot and when you rub it on your hand. But when I use it on my eyes it doesn't give that same effect. Urban Decay eyeshadows go on smooth though so that is a plus.

Probably my least favourite Urban Decay eyeshadow. Looks like a bright purple in the pan but goes on much paler and fades to an almost pastel purple after a couple hours. I had heard about this flashing blue, but I see none of that.

If you want a brighter version of this try Milani's "Shock". It's much more pigmented and actually flashes the blue that …Read more

This was my first UD shadow and still my favorite! It's ultra smooth and blendable and looks awesome over black eyeliner or shadow - medium pinky purple with irridescent blue. Some people complain that this color is not "practical" but if that's really a problem for you, then you shouldn't be wearing UD! :)

I love, love this shadow! I actually use it on top of my black eyeliner...I heard that using a bright eyeshadow with a wet eyelining brush makes a fabulous eye-opener. I have gotten nice compliments on my eye makeup with this eyeshadow on, and it makes for a refreshing, yet not too-out-there pop of color!

Others have described this color well!
