I've tried various versions of Kose softymo. I haven't found one I liked. It didn't seem to do much for my dehydrated skin. So I've since discontinued use.

I got interested in Cleansing Oils since my skin is sensitive, break out prone and has a compromised barrier due to trying to combat acne for years and years along with horrible picking. So I really needed something gentle yet effective and I found that's practically impossible. But I have been moving towards using milks and oil based cleansers which often do clog me but I feel they strip …Read more

I use cleansing oils as a pre-cleanse to remove any keratin plugs from my pores, which does a relatively good job so far. Texture of this oil is runnier than the thicker Fancl one. Can't attest to the makeup removal power as I don't wear makeup! I followup with a gentle cleanser as this seems to leave a slight film instead of rinsing off cleanly for me. Price is half of Fancl's so …Read more

I have used a couple of Japanese DS cleansing oils, and really like the normal orange version of this, so when I saw the white version I figured I'd give it a try. I don't enjoy this as much as the orange though.

-This is very runny and I feel it's slightly less effective taking makeup + SS off. The texture just isn't the same and I prefer Kanebo Naive (green …

I've been through three of these bottles over the last year and half as well as tried other oils. This is my goto makeup/ sunscreen removing oil. It's gentle and not too heavily fragranced. It's cheap too. It doesn't remove waterproof makeup in one go but it is possible.

In terms of whitening, this does nothing for me. The whitening ingredient is derivatives of rice bran. This is mainly rice bran oil, along with mineral oil next on the ingredient list. However, as an oil cleanser, this is my first and it was cheap and I don't think it's breaking me out. One thing I would like to say is that the package states that one must not wet the face or hands …Read more

I've been repurchasing this product because it's cheap and efficient. The texture isn't as moisturising as Shu Uemura, isn't as comfortable as Kose Sekkisei but its cleansing power is as strong as the both. Furthermore, it's dirt cheap if you compared against any other makeup removers. I got mine for HKD48/59, depending on the currency fluctuation.

The scent …

I have been using this as my makeup remover (after which i use a cleanser). It removes most waterproof makeup and sunscreen, but not mascara. It would remove a bit of the mascara but I need to use an eye-makeup remover to remove all traces. It is otherwise a good oil cleanser if you use something after it for the actual cleaning, that's partly because i prefer the squeaky clean feeling. As …Read more

Although I am very much a face wash girl, this cleansing oil has been a very nice change for me. I started using it about three months ago as my evening cleansing step to remove my thick sunblock. The texture is pretty viscous along the lines of mineral oil, with a slight citrus smell that is almost impossible to detect. I just need three pumps of the oil to remove my sunblock as well as any …Read more
