Impérial Opoponax

Beast mode longevity. Starts off with a very strong almond extract top that mellows after 20-30 minutes. This scent changed on me all day, sometimes sweet, sometimes powdery, the whole time smooth and bit of a masculine edge but not distractingly so. Lasted 12 hours easily. Despite the lasting power it doesn't have huge projection. I like it but don't love it. I will wear again

I find myself surprised at how many people smell lavender in this when there is nothing in it that would give it the sharply herbal, laundry soap smell that lavender means to me. I found a bottle of this scent in TKMaxx for £9.00 and thought
I blind buy it and give it a try. How glad I am that I did - it's a sweet, rich, resinous, sultry gem that will be perfect for the cooler months. Opoponax is a sweet myrrh that smells divine and was highly regarded by King Solomon. Think "Song of Songs" when you apply this!

This is gorgeous, a deep, almost syrupy opoponax scent. I love it in the cooler months. It smells rich and golden and glowing. This one's all about the basenotes; the drydown lasts forever. Layers beautifully with another favorite, Les Nereides Patchouli Antique.

I guess I'm the strange one here, because I don't detect any powder at all (hate powder) and in no way do I think this is masculine. It's not sweet or flowery, and I would say it's a winter scent. Many reviewers below have hit the nail on the head with this one. I don't however, smell any white flowers or in any way associate this perfume with white, cashmere, silk or scarves. This one is fantastic if you want big, smooth, flowing myrrh. For me, personally, it was too much. Too strong and too perfumey. I do like it much more than Annick Goutal's Myrrhe Ardente.

IO starts out with a rather masculine cologne top - sort of a clean citrus, then gradually dries into opoponax (also known as sweet myrrh) vanilla heaven. another winner from les nereides....the perfect scent for winter:it is warm like a silk scarf.... the drydown is powdery and the fragrance has a very good sillage(over 8 hours)...the price is very good!!.....even if i hope they will change the packaging soon!! update: i changed idea it is too overwhelming ... i wore it yesterday and i didn't like it ...it was like a cough syrup
