As much as I love my current shampoo (Yes to Carrots) it's sadly been discontinued and so the hunt for a new favorite begins...and I can categorically state that this isn't it! I love Avalon Organics whole ethos - no fragrance, parabens, sulfates, vegan-friendly etc, and the fact that this shampoo 'apparently' helps stimulate the scalp to encourage hair growth had me online …Read more

I don't think it did anything to thicken my hair or grow more. Not that cleansing as a shampoo (especially if you have an oily scalp) so I used it after shampooig with something else. Lasted forever, well over a year. Doesnt build up much of a lather.

Worst shampoo I have ever used. Along with the conditioner. First off Im used to sulfate free products but this did not lather at all. It was hard to rinse from my hair. Made my hair feel very rough too. It Left my roots oily and worst of all.....ITCHY AND INFLAMMED. I have never ever broken out or have itched at all from any shampoo. Broke my scalp out in bumps and all along on my ears. Stay …Read more

I have fine, thinning hair and was hoping this would nourish my scalp and help me hold on to my hair longer. Totally satisfied on that score, I definitely am losing less hair in the shower. The texture of this shampoo is like water (maybe because it is sulfate free?) so it is a little hard to get it evenly distributed. It doesn't lather much but it does get my hair nice and clean. Need to …Read more

I've only used this once and I don't think so I will ever use it again.
Thankfully, this wasn't a product out of my own wallet- This was my aunts and it look fascinating seeing that it came with an accompanying conditioner which incidentally my aunt had as well.

Texture: Lathers on quite okay-ish seeing that product is sulfate free.
Smell: other reviews and …

I'm no stranger to "natural" haircare, but this shampoo is nothing to write home about. How is it that an allegedly thickening formula actually leaves my hair flatter, limper, and greasier feeling? I usually wash my hair every other evening, and when I use this shampoo my hair gets so dirty feeling after 24 hours I really think hard about whether or not I want to go another day …Read more

My hair is fine and dry hair is thinning really badly. I tried Nioxin, not working at all for me. It gave me pimples on the scalp. So I happened to saw this on iherb, impulse buying it. And first use was a bit drying and straw like. Ask my hair stylist about it (he's a good friend), he said it's probably because it doesn't contain any silicone. After week of using it, my hair …Read more

I have very fine hair and about a year ago I really damaged it in order to turn in blue, which was fun while it lasted. I've been letting the damaged hair grow out; it has been slow going. I have been on a madly search to find a shampoo and conditioner that would add some life into my dead strands. This however just left my hair oily and none the healthier.

I have baby fine hair, and I've been going more natural with my haircare and skincare and skincare. When it comes to my hair, I'm always looking for anything with the words volumizing, or thickening, or biotin. With conventional shampoos I would have so much hair falling out into my bathtub. I guess in a way that has resulted in having thicker hair. Even my ponytail has gotten thicker …Read more

Not to wax poetic about my hair journey over the past couple years but...I've been trying to grow my hair out (nothing crazy, just to the clavicle region) for literally two years or more with no success. My shorter layers would get a little past my chin and my longer layers a smidge past my shoulders, but would be dull, tangly, and split, so I'd have to cut off 2-3 inches, because …Read more
