Moonlit Madness is a shade that's core in Orly's line and has been around since the brand launched, so it is easy to find. It is a rich cranberry red that looks shimmery - almost metallic - in the bottle. When applied to the nail, the berryish shimmer sorts of fades into the red base of the formula - but this actually works in the polish's favour, as it gives the shade a lit-from-within quality. As well as the molten glow being extremely pretty, the formula is a winner; you really only need one coat for complete coverage, that matches the shade in the bottle. Although I'm someone who usually wears two coats of a polish for better wear, it's nice to know that if I have limited time to get ready for something and I want a quick mani or pedi, this is there for me to use. This polish is so smooth to apply that it almost seems to apply itself, it doesn't streak on me, it dries quickly, and it wears well. This shade is similar to OPI Ro-Man-Ce On The Moon (MM is a richer and darker red), so if you like that then you'll enjoy this.

Moonlit Madness is a gloriously vampish deep rich cranberry. It has the subtlest shimmer, and the finish reminds me of a beautiful old vintage or classic car paint job. It is opaque with just one coat, though you only get the full depth and richness of the colour with two. It dries quickly (though not flawlessly - more on that later) and applies easily, with a good consistency, neither too thick nor uncontrollably runny. Orly polishes have a shaped, rubberized bottle top to make application easy and comfortable and I really like this detail. The bottle is also a generous size - good thing, as I can see myself using this polish a lot as a classic autumn or "going out" shade or as a base for red purple or even blue duochromes. It wears well and though it isn't as long lasting as some of my favorites I do get about four days out of it before tip wear becomes noticable. There is a drawback though, which loses this otherwise perfect polish a lippy. No matter how early in the day I apply, and no matter how carefully I nurse my fingertips throughout the day, it takes an age for the surface to cure to absolute hardness and I have sometimes gone to bed with a beautiful glossy manicure and got up in the morning with polish that has been faintly ridged and dulled during sleep. As this is the only Orly polish in this particular formula that I own I don't know if it is typical. A fast drying topcoat might help with this - I will give it a try and report back if it does. All in all though a fabulous polish that I can recommend as a classic grown up shade that I'm sure would look good on anyone. And if that huge bottle ever runs out I'm sure I'd replace it.

I love Orly bottles. The rubbery top provides good grip and size of the bottle means you get a lot for your £. For me this is a darker version of OPI I'm Not Really a Waitress - metallic dark red. I have nothing negative to say about this polish. I really like the colour, for me it's a classic. The quality is very good too. I doubt I will EVER run out of this polish, just because the bottle is very large, but if I do, I will repurchase Moonlit Madness.

What a beautiful color!Suitable for automn-winter months...Only drawback I can find is that it needs a top coat to make it shine more.

i love, love, love this color!on me it's a lustrous, deep, cranberry-ruby red shade. it has the effect of making my fair skin look immaculate and flawless. i love it on my toes for a little something-something - and it lasts long.i do love that orly bottles have a rubberized handle on the brush, and that the bottle is a generous size. the brush is a little too long and floppy (?) for me, but that's only because as a dancer i must keep my toenails trimmed back. the formula goes on thin, but rich in pigmentation, and dries smooth - but not all that shiny without a topcoat, for which i took a star off. on the toes, it lasts a fair amount of time, withstanding vigorous scuffing/rubbing when i need to do dragging motions for certain dances.i cannot say how long it lasts on my fingers since i'm boring and only prefer pale pink on hands (i'm pretty boring with the toes too actually, usually i just wear reds or maybe in the summer wear a fuchsia or coral-y color), but i can say that it lasts well on toes.overall, i would buy this again, if i ever run out of the huuuge bottle. thank god for polish thinner! continued >>

This is certainly in the running for best deep red nail polish out right now. The color is simply breathtaking. It'e extremely deep with a noticeable but subtle shimmer. It looks great on all skin tones. The consistency is perfect. It goes on so well, not streaky whatsoever. I go between this and #88 from Face Stockholm all the time when I want a nice red that's full of intensity.

This is my HG nail polish. It's the perfect color for my mocha complexion. It is extremely chip resistant, and the color is so beautiful. It's like having rubies on your fingertips LOL. It is a very strong color, but I'm sure it would be very complimentary to a variety of skin tones. Hmmmm, not my HG anymore, I've decided to go for a darker color. However, that has nothing to do with the polish itself, which is of excellent quality- VERY chip resistent.

I LOVE this shade. I am deeply in love with all of Orly's nail polishes, but this one stands out in particular. It is a deep burgundy red with shimmer which shines like tinfoil, has great staying power, enormous bottle, comfortable grip handle and great end look. Thumbs up, Orly!

This is actually my first RED nailpolish. I was actually going to buy the OPI 'bogota blackberry'...but they were out (heard about this one from the reviews on here). For that reason, I ended up buying this just because the color caught my eye. I wear it on my toes & I can't stop looking at it! The shimmer and shade of burgundy-red is so pretty! :) The quality is excellent too! It's sooo shiny...as if I got it done at a nail salon. A winner in my book.
