A friend gave me some Phyto Plage when I went on vacation to protect a new hair-color I had just gotten. She said it was also really moisturizing. My hair may have been really porous to begin with, but I actually found it to be slightly drying. BUT...I cannot give this a bad review because I love what it did for my hair. If I put Phyto Plage in, scrunched my stick-straight hair a little bit, and then just forgot about it, I had the greatest, wildest mane of loose bohemian waves an hour or so later. I LOVED how it made my hair look!

Loving its styling capabilities, I will definitely use again...just not on a daily basis since it seemed to have a contrary drying effect on me.

My hairdresser recommended this to me several years ago to use as an everyday hair gel (not just for days in the sun). I have short, thick wavy hair that dries out easily. I had normally used a hard-hold type gel on my damp hair and let it air-dry to keep it under control and smooth. I tried the same thing with this gel and wow, what a difference! This Phyto gel is actually moisturizing (really!) and holds my waves with absolutely none of that dry-crunchy gel feeling. You hardly know it's there! No stickiness, no flakes, no dryness. I have been really impressed with it. This gel used to come in an awkward metal tube but they've thankfully switched over to a plastic tube--although a smaller size with much less product.

The one caveat is that on the occasions I want to straighten my hair with a flat iron, this gel is not the best choice. It seems to have a slight humectant effect (attracts moisture) and my hair did not stay very straight when I used this. So if you want to keep your wavy/curly hair straight, this might not be the best choice....however if want to keep your waves or curls soft and smooth, give it a try! continued >>

After reading in a magazine that Jennifer Lopez used this gel, I decided to give it a try since my hair is also think and naturally curly. It does a tremendous job on my hair. My curls are not frizzy and it gives the perfect amount of hold, not sticky or goopy. Have been using it for 1 year now mixed with a little Redken Outshine and the results are great. I let my hair airdry and it lays really nice.

Love this when I'm on the beach. It feels more substantial than the Kerastase Soleil spray. I wasn't keen on the scent but it grows on you.

I don't notice anything but I hope that's a sign that it works. It protects my chemically damaged hair from sun and sea water.

I love this gel however, it is hard to explain. I do not really buy the hype about sun protection. Still, as a styling aid its fabulous. Phytoplage gel mostuirzes with no buildup and gives my hair great shine. There is hardly any hold which is great for the natural look. I will definetly repurchase.

I love this as much as I love phyto-7. This gel offers very light control. On humid days, my thick hair goes bonkers. This definitely keeps the frizzies from taking over while keeping my hair looking natural and not at all styled with gobs of products. My favorite way of using this gel is to apply it to wet hair and then let my hair dry naturally. It has a very subtle lovely scent that is almost imperceptible. I can't really tell if it actually protects my hair from the sun but it definitely helps keep my hair healthy looking. I have used up several tubes of this and will buy again. The tube is cool looking but it can split, esp. after you've used up more than half.

I'm so glad I finally coughed up the $18 to try this gel, since I have heard a lot of good things about it. This gel is a miracle for my curly hair. It actually is moisturizing and it makes my curls luscious, defined, springy, and frizz free. It doesn't build up or add weight. It has a subtle planty smell but it doesn't smell up my hair, thank goodness. I don't buy the hype about protection from the sun, so if you want to protect your hair from the sun, wear a hat. I also hate the metal tube packaging becuase it cracks open after repeated use, but hey it is still well worth the money!
