Quite sweet green perfume adorned with little berries and flowers. I think the name can be misleading if you look for darker notes (an imaginary pharmacist's hidden den) in herbal fragrances. To me, Herbae is more like sweet grass in front of a tiny cottage. With spring, tiny wildflowers have shown their smiling faces. Everything is light, fresh and optimistic. Herbae opens with a bright, sparkling bergamote. Ambrette is definitely there in the form of some sweet airiness. I think I'm allergic to ambrette notes sometimes but here, it is very safe and pleasant, like a waft of country breeze on a sunny day. Unfortunately, I get moresweet flowers on a green, grassy base than herbs in the heart. All I can sense is clary sage, which is airy and serene. It is pleasant but I wish I could get more herbs. And it is definitely sweeter than I expected. Maybe it's my body chemistry or my nose, but the base becomes lots of cashmeran, a sweet green powder fragrance on me - the powder feels almost too prominent. Altogether, I like but not love Herbae. I think it is different from many other things I can come across everyday and this is good. On the right person, this can even become a calm signature, an attractive and serene fragrance that people would remember you with. But it is not the dark or wild herbal I like looking for. 3.5

Herbae is a new fragrance out earlier this year. Its marketed as unisex, but doesn't smell like a musky mens cologne. If you like sharp, fresh, bitter, screechy electric citrus fragrances, and fresh aromatic herbals, then you might like it. For me I love the sharp almost bitter grapefruit top notes, with fresh green herbs and crushed tomato leaves. Reminds me of a mix of Moshino I Love Love (sharp citrus) and Les Belles de Ricci by Nina Ricci (tomato leaves, came in a frosted green twist bottle, metallic fucshia pink lid) that people went crazy for in the mid 90's. Or Annick Goutal Eau d'Hadrien. Or one of the Hermes Jardin fragrances I used to have. I got a small sample of the cologne then purchased the fragrance in the "Beauty Milk". So juicy and refreshing for summer, as well as moisturising and soothing to skin. I've already used it up but am looking to repurchase. Family - Floral Green Top Notes - bergamot, pink pepper, ambrette (musk mallow) Heart Notes - blackberry, rose hip, nettle blossom, nettle, clary sage Base Notes - cashmeran, musk, wheat, grass, honey , coumarin
