I find this palette so fun and inspiring, despite it's flaws. There's a mix of cool, neutral, and warm shadows and matte and shimmer textures. There are light, medium, and deep shades too. The colours are out of the box enough to be fun and inspiring, but are still mostly wearable. There're a good number of one-shadow looks in here too. I find that the mattes are decently pigmented and blend pretty well (not as well as viseart, but better than urban decay). There could be a lighter matte cream as the lightest shade, fresh, is about my skin tone or a shade darker so doesn't work for a matte highlight or blending/finishing colour. The lightest shimmer shade, low-key, is a whitish pink that is not very pigmented and doesn't really go with most of the other colours in the palette. Overall, I recommend you try it out if it loos fun to you!

I bought both the ELF Opposites Attract palette and the New Classics palette from my local Target (I didn't want to chance having them shipped from ELF and coming busted...) I reviewed the New Classics first before trying this one - and I have to say that I like them both, but I do feel that they are a bit overpriced for ELF. $14, I think they could have put the price point of these at $9.99. The colors are beautiful and fun, but they are EXTREMELY powdery - the kickback is FOR REAL with these. One dip with your brush and powder is everywhere on the palette. Shades - fun, lots of colors and neutrals and pops of color - which is why I wanted to buy the palette. Consistency - I would say after trying both palettes and owning their others (Mad for Matte) - these run the same quality as their other palettes. I found the mattes to apply pigmented and fine in my crease and they blend well with each other (today I used one of the oranges and then lightened it a bit with a nude) and it wasn't super patchy, but some darker mattes do run patchy in the sense that if you touch down with your brush on your lid (with base down) the color will stick and it will take some power to blend it out. The shimmers are pretty, but do not last at all on my lids (even with UD primer lid base). I apply them with my fingertip (and have done wet) and they show up bright for about 5 minutes, but I swear as you blink your lid and work with other colors - the bold shine/shimmer just disappears. (I found this the same with the New Classics palette, too). I enjoy playing around and palettes last forever, so I don't see this as a waste at all. But ELF could have lowered the price point - and made them similar to their other palettes (or like the Profusion palettes which are cheaper) it would have been a bit more accepting. I would "repurchase" in general, because ELF is normally pretty cheap and make-up should be fun and not super expensive, which their stuff in general is at a lower price point than most.

Bought this and promptly returned it. Out of the three 18-pan palettes that e.l.f. released, this was the most problematic for me. The shimmers were unpigmented, or just looked plain dull when applied. The mattes are fine, but the more unique shades (like that mustard yellow) seem to turn a funny color on the skin. To me, this performs similarly to the Revolution Iconic Division palette (which is half the price), but at least the mattes in that stay true to color. Packaging is nothing to write home about. Pretty basic. $14 from e.l.f., which is kind of a higher price point. I'm just not impressed. I'd say maybe I used it wrong, but I've been using eyeshadow for 20 years. I tried every which way that I know to make it work, and it still fell flat.
