Ferments are truly one of those "your milage may vary" skincare products. So often what works beautifully for one person will have zero effect on another persons skin. That doesn't make the products bad, it's just some skin/skin type respond better to different things. There are a lot of ferment products on the market, but for my skin I've always had the best results from ones that contain bifida ferment, which this has, though it can't be in a huge amount. In fact the bulk of this serum is galactomyces ferment (92%) and niacinamide (5%). In that regard it's extremely similar to Cosrx Galactomyces 95 Tone Up Essence, but for my skin even those small amounts of bifida and lactobacillus ferments make a noticable difference in my skintone between the two products. I also find this more moisturizing than the Cosrx. Usually I layer this under my Curology cream, and on nights that I skip it my skin is also noticeably more irritated from the lack of niacinamide.
