Tl/dr: This burns on application, if you have rosacea. It's kind of frightening. I have dermatitis-prone, very pale, genetically-redheaded, oily, thick skin with a tendency towards irritation and pretty well-controlled rosacea. I had tried The Ordinary, about a year ago, in volume and came down with a nasty case of dermatitis. However, I decided to try the most neutral of TO's products again, because I'm not entirely certain that the cause of the dermatitis wasn't just going whole hog on too many products. I put this on, and my face felt really uncomfortable, within about five minutes. I used an oil based Avene cleanser and La Roche Posay micellar water, and my face was still burning until I also washed this off entirely with yet another La Roche Posay cream cleanser, a few hours later. For reference, a lot of La Roche Posay, L'Oreal, Avene, Boots No. 7, Dove, and and Inkey List suits my skin just fine.

Argan oil has been my go to for years! Just several drops of this every AM and PM on my face is all I need to keep my skin hydrated, acne marks reduced - due to Argan Oils' natural Vitamin E content, and prevent new blemishes from appearing (somehow, although have yet to figure out why!). Seriously Argan Oil has worked wonders for me. Very few oils agree with my skin type and most just end up causing further breakouts. Whenever I use this my skin looks flawless and whatever I apply over it such as my CC cream or any liquid foundation - just glides on smoothly and without me having to use a primer beforehand. It sinks in without leaving an oily film on your skin, which for someone like me whose face regularly turns into an oil slick by mid-afternoon, it's nothing short of a miracle! There's probably an element of dehydration and oil glands trying to overcompensate in my case, I'm not sure just how well 'oily/non-dehydrated' would respond, but at prices like this it's thankfully not a huge gamble. I've used The Ordinary (which I prefer) and also other organic and non-organic brands, but keep coming back to The Ordinary due to its price point and purity. No issues with the 'rubber band-ish' smell for me as it seems to fade quite rapidly. The only issue I do have is how similar in appearance most of The Ordinary's products are - that white label with thin gray band around the middle, you really have to scrutinize the label first...which at 5am after a Saturday night out and the room somewhat spinning, isn't always easy! Would be great if they were color coded instead of being so identical and generic in appearance. This may not be the GOAT, but it sure smells like a goat lol. This is my second foray into argan oil; my first being a bottle from SheaMoisture. The SheaMoisture argan oil was similarly affordable but had absolutely no scent. In researching argan oil, it seems that you actually don't want to see an odorless product because it indicates the oil has been over processed. I had read reviews of The Ordinary's argan oil prior to purchasing, so I knew to expect an earthy smell. "How bad could it possibly be?" I asked myself. Well, every morning when I apply it I pray the scent dissipates before I get to work and my coworkers wonder if I just walked in from the farm lol. This is the second oil I've purchased from The Ordinary and I just love their packaging. I keep both oils stored away from sunlight. I add a couple of drops to my palm, rub both palms together, and pat into my face and neck. Argan oil is a drier oil, but I do find I need to still allow 5-10 minutes for absorption prior to applying my makeup. My skin has been fairly dry lately, so I don't really experience excessive shine/dewiness from the oil as my base layer under my foundation, but that could change as we get closer to summer. I do experience the slightest of separation if I touch my face throughout the day. I personally haven't tried this in my hair yet. I have dry hair, but it's pretty fine, so adding oil is a delicate balance of trying to add shine, but not weigh down my hair. I crossed that line for sure pretty much every time I tried using the SheaMoisture argan oil.

My bottle spoiled very quickly and smelled worst than rancid. It was a rather toxic smell. Argan oil has a shelf life of two years. TO bottle was stored in a dark closet and went off within months. I do really like argan oil and suggest buying another brand. I have had good luck with Physican Formula, Garden of Wisdom for argan. Argan is super for hair, cuticles and a little drop to seal in under eye treatment. I strongly suggest a brand other than TO. TO did work as well as my other brands when I first used it.

I've docked a lippie because the smell is, to say the least, less than pleasant, although it bothers me less now than it initially did. Having said that, this is a lovely daytime oil for face (after serum and before sunscreen--didn't break me out!), as well as a good frizz tamer when applied sparingly to hair. As ever, the price is A-1. Will repurchase.

I've tried this only a couple of times since buying it a few months ago, because it legit smells like a farm. Like the manure smell at a farm. Animal doo-doo. I can't comment on the benefits of this as a hair or skin treatment and I hate to leave a negative review of a product because of one single issue unrelated to its actual purpose, but if the smell is a big enough issue that I haven't been able to use it enough to assess it, then I think it's reasonable to write the review. I really like most of the other Deciem products I've tried and it's not their fault if this is the smell of proper argan oil (I don't know if it is or not), but seriously it's a problem. At least it's cheap so I don't feel salty about spending money on it.

I have thick messy curly/frizzy hair and need to blow dry after washing or the roots get greasy. I normally blow dry with a heat brush and straighten so it's a bit less messy, but I can never get it completely straight and non-bushy and all the heat causes split ends. Rubbed some of this through my damp hair after washing, and it just magically wasn't frizzy when I blow dried it! It's mostly straight and nice and smooth. I wasn't expecting such a huge difference. Hair is still smooth a few days later and doesn't cause any issues with my dry shampoo. You can smell the oil if you put the bottle to your nose since it's unrefined, but not once you've put the small amount in your hair. Where has this been all of my frizzy-haired life?

This is a seriously good, no-nonsense packaged, vegan, cruelty-free Argan Oil. I don't use it on my face but it works absolute magic on my very thick hair. It's so effective, I've stopped using all other hair serums, leave-ins and just use this when my hair is still damp and run it through the lenghths, then on dry hair i just use 2 drops on the ends. Truly fabulous! It does have an odd smell, but nothing that lingers, and for what my hair looks and feels like, it's totally worth it.

Smells like a pungent olive. Is that normal or does it mean mine is rancid? Makes my hair so so soft! I love it on my face, too. At $6 CAD I recommend every grab one. Packaging gets still going strong after a year or so. No stickyness, unlike my The Ordinary Rosehip Seed Oil. \ Pale yellow in color. Not sure if that is good or bad.

Love this oil. Pure Argan without added silicones. Add few drops to your ends or dry sections. Voila shine without the grease!
