I got this a while ago on a whim, and to be honest, wasn't too impressed and so I promptly put it away in a drawer amongst other makeup I regret buying but still hold onto for no damn reason, lol. I dont know what made me reach for this again, but I'm so glad I did. My go to nude lipstick is urban decay 1993 and persistence has now become my 2nd favorite. I own a plethora of nudie pinky brown lipsticks and persistence is a color unlike any of them. It's a peachy brown, cinnamon shade but it so works on my warm, medium tan skin. I have strong yellow undertones that that has a tendency to make me look sallow and finding makeup to brighten it up and compliment it is no easy feat. Persistence makes my skin appear golden, which I love, especially with summer here. I didn't realize what a hidden gem this is because I'm used to deeper, darker lipsticks and so the peachiness of it threw me off at first. It also made me realize I should venture more out of my comfort zone when it comes to trying lighter colors, lol. Persistence is a comfortable matte, applies smoothly and the staying power is decent. I haven't used any lipliners with this as I feel like it's not needed but I might one of these days just to play it up. It's not an exciting, bold color, but an everyday nude for me, but still pretty nonetheless. I can see myself repurchasing when this runs out and also trying out Taupe, which I dont have, but heard was very similar to persistence.

Great lipstick to complement my skin tone.

Very similar to Taupe but more on the mauvy browny side.

Pigment is great and it lasts too due to being matte.

Looks almost identical to Taupe lipstick from MAC with Taupe having a rosier undertone and a less matte finish. I got this yesterday as a Back 2 MAC & I must say - I'm obsessed! I pair this with Chestnut Lip Pencil from MAC or Jordana Easyliner in Coco Loco and my goodness, it's THE perfect everyday warm browny nude on my complexion. The cinnamon hue really compliments my warm undertones, I was so close to getting Taupe but so glad I got Persistence instead.

I have Whirl, Velvet Teddy, Taupe & they are all very similar. Lovers of brown lipsticks rejoice! This is similar to the D.C. best to me ultimate classic lipstick of all time wetnwild Mocha Bean! I also like UD 1993 which is a dupe for this. It's a creamy brown not frosty like bronze shimmer or cherish its more creamy even thou it's matte. Lovely lipstick looks good w a neutral eye.

Similar to Taupe but a bit darker towards the brown side. Its a matte lipstick but not drying. I would suggest you try it out first at the MAC counter as you should all nudes - the internet is full of it showing up in various shades. I dont know why im writing this review even!
I will use it since it is a sophisticated brown and im tired of using Taupe for the last 5 years.

my all time favorite day to day lip color. Mauvey brown with no weird undertones. lasts long especially if you use the MAC lip primer which I swear by! you can dress this color up or down and it looks great on almost every skin tone!

Very similar to Taupe and a slightly darker shade than Whirl.

I was at MAC for ten minutes just deciding whether I should get Whirl or Persistence, but used my personal self-indulgence shopping rule:

When torn between two things, save yourself the torture and JUST GET BOTH.

The mix of Persistence and Whirl is freakin' amazing and both are my go-to nudes.

Listen, this 2015 Matte Collection? It got at least 2 things right. Whirl and this baby right here. Persistence is a beautiful nudey beige with a terracotta undertone. It is just like taupe. I can tell no difference. But I wanted it so I got it. Love the matte formula that MAC offers. The lasting power of this one is second to none. I find it to only come off when I eat. Will certainly repurchase if I ever run out.

This lipstick is an absolute dream! Matte finish but not drying. I'm an NC15 and this is a perfect "dark nude" on me. I wear this color almost every day. Goes greatv with any kind of makeup look. Lasts a long term per the usual with mac lipsticks. I would recommend this shade to almost anyone
