I normally like Kiehl's products, but this serum did absolutely nothing for me. It was recommended to me by the sales clerk at the airport while browsing the Kiehl's store there. She swore this was an amazing product. I see zero difference in my lines. Better to save your money and get Botox.

A year or so ago I had an incredibly nasty reaction to the castor oil I was using to try and regrow my brows, so my upper eyelids were red, irritated and became droopy in the inner corners. At that time, I purchased an eye serum from La Prairie, which really worked like a charm to fix the condition, but that price tag, though! The Kiel’s serum is not cheap, either, but it is far more reasonable compared to La Prairie. I liked what it’s doing for my upper eyelid area: I have deep set eyes, which I’ve noticed that are starting to lose elasticity a bit, but this serum does help to make them look perkier. It doesn’t seem to do much for my under eye area, though. I hate the pump packaging, which is really tiny and hard to control, so it dispenses too much, imo. Because of my experience with castor oil, I wanted to proceed with caution, and not use too much in the beginning, so for me one pump is enough to do both my eyes, and I only use the tiniest of tiny amounts. So far it hasn’t caused any irritation, and I love the unscented, clear gel. It’s high summer now, but even in this hot weather I don”t think it’s moisturizing enough on its own, so I only use it at night layered under the Mizon Collagen Firming Gel.

I got this as a sample and really didn't want to like it as it's so FREAKING EXPENSIVE!! 15ml of this will set you back £40 whilst 30ml is an eye-watering £59 (ouch!). Definitely way outside of my usual budget and not something I would be able to purchase on a regular basis. Which is made all the more difficult when I say... this was REALLY nice to use. There's no discernible scent - which I definitely prefer in a face product - and it sank into my skin effortlessly. It didn't irritate my eyes or eye area and it made the whole area feel really well moisturised and soft. It also felt like it had a slight tightening effect on my under-eye area, especially at the outer corners where I'm just starting to see some fine lines appearing. The packaging states this will 'visibly lift, firm and restore youthful looking shape to the eyes' which given my short-lived experience with it (about 2 weeks, used morning and night) I would say is pretty spot on! I also didn't need a huge amount of product - a drop about the size of a lentil for each eye was enough - which is good considering how much a full-sized bottle costs. If I'm spending that much on something, I want to know it's going to last me a good while. I would definitely repurchase this as a full-sized bottle, purely based on the results I saw in the short time I used it, but given its price it'll have to be a treat I save up for (unless I win the lottery, then I'm going out to a buy a crate load!).

Gave me milia when used under the avocado eye cream. Maybe the combination of the two did it I don't know, but when I used the avocado cream alone it was fine. So this is the problem for me.

I normally like Kiehl's products (I use their Ultra Facial cleanser, toner, moisturiser and Blue Herbal blemish gel) but this eye serum was so disappointing! I have very sensitive, combination Asian (Chinese) skin and have never had any allergic reactions to other Kiehl's products in my daily routine. After 1 week of day and night usage of this serum, I noticed that my eyelids were getting slightly less droopy / puffy, so it is sort of effective. However, the skin under my eyes were getting progressively puffier and redder each day, and started to develop rash-like symptoms after a week so I stopped using it. After switching to Avene's Soothing Eye Contour cream (which I think only offers good hydration but doesn't diminish dark eye circles or de-puff) for 2 days, the rash-like symptoms were gone and my eyes were back to normal. I'm really disappointed because I wanted to like this serum and feel that it does work in terms of de-puffing, but it's definitely not for sensitive skin. The packaging is also quite impractical because the pump always gives out too much product and while this serum is not as expensive as the likes of Sisley and La Prairie, it's definitely not that cheap either, and you wouldn't want to waste half the product each time you press on it. The small aluminium can also makes it hard to gauge how much product is left in the bottle (as opposed to a tube version where you can at least press and feel how much there is even if it is opaque).

I received this as a free gift. I was super thrilled to try it. The first time I used it, it was good. I did notice that the makeup did not settle into the fine lines under my eyes. The second day I used it, my eyelids were burning. My eyelids were super tender. I recommend that you just use this under your eyes. A little does go a long way, but if you have sensitive eyes like me, be very careful.

Kiehl’s Super Corrective Eye-Opening Serum is absolutely fantastic for fine lines and wrinkles and sagging around the eyes. It will instantly plump up and lift the skin, with ample amounts of sodium hyaluronate and occlusive agents, and the high concentration of rhamnose therein will cause your skin to produce more collagen over time. (Think months, not days, on the latter point). On the other hand, if you have dark circles or puffiness, Kiehl’s Super Corrective Eye-Opening Serum isn’t the right eye treatment for you. Dark circles are either caused by hyperpigmentation or blood pooling in the region. In the case of hyperpigmentation, you want to think hydroquinone, kojic acid, retinol + vitamin K together, glycolic acid, vitamin C in high concentrations, and certain peptides like Lumixyl. On the other hand, with blood pooling in the region, you want to look at sleeping on more than one pillow for eight=plus hour (if you’re lucky!) head elevation, and certain peptides like Haloxyl. Rhamnose and sodium hyaluronate aren’t going to cut it as your actives for dark circles or puffiness. I love Kiehl's as a brand, so when they launch this, I immediately go to the store and purchase this. I've used up the whole bottle and see no result. My eye area stay the same. If you want to try some eye treatment that actually give result, try their Midnight Recovery Eye.
