This was such a gorgeous duochrome blue + gold color. Literally a mermaid shade! It also has flashes of green in it and pink shimmer. This was limited edition from eons ago but they still sell it online. It makes a gorgeous eyeshadow base too. I was lucky enough to have found one on clearance at the 99cent only store a while back. I love colors like this for spring & summer. It lasts a long time too. It doesn't crease. I love it.

My Complexion - brown skinned (think Kelly Rowland). The color is a very pretty blue/gold in it's package, however, on my brown skin, the color was more like a sheer gold and I did not see any of the blue. On fairer skin, the blue shows up quite nicely so I was a bit bummed about it not showing up blue on me. Perhaps I will try it again using a little more product. Perhaps not. In any case, I have other golden eyeshadows so it's back to the store for Shimmering Seas. I would still suggest trying it because if it doesn't show up blue on you, at least you will have a nice golden color. Besides, Maybelline's color tattoo is a good quality for the price.

I'll have to agree with the other reviewer here that its quite the Seashore Frosts from Summer of 2013. I have seen bloggers mention the repackaging & same color as well; but I'll have to disagree (slightly) I don't own SF anymore because I swapped it away, but I remember how sought after & raved it was so I tried to make it work MANY times; but it didn't for me. It was greasier and this slip caused it to crease on my lids rather quickly. I also recall it pulled more metallic blue/gray and made me look like tired panda eyes; which is why I gave it away. SS seems to play more on the duochrome gold shade (wish it was opaque, would be goregous then) but its still a sheer color that requires building but atleast it brightens my eyes. Unlike SF I can wear SS alone (no primer or shadow on top) for a day look with or without a crease color and its wearable. If u have SF and love it, ull have a similar look; if u hated it then this might work for u---> either ways its worth a try!

It's difficult for me to fairly rate this product, because I'm writing this review as a public service announcement for my fellow makeup lovers. This color is included in Maybelline's new Bleached Neons summer 2014 collection. It is the exact same color as last year's summer collection for the shade called Seashore Frosts. Same multi-chrome mix of gold and blue and rusty mauve. I love the product, but wish Maybelline had re-released it under the same name, because you know how we cosmetic fanatics can be.....I'll buy it even if it's a pinch different and be completely satisfied, but to buy the same color under a different name by the same brand just makes me feel cheated. Also, there doesn't seem to be any difference between the two as far as formula and consistency. The good news is, if you wanted Seashore Frosts last year and didn't get ahold of it, now you have another chance! And if you aquired Seashore Frosts last year, save your money!
