I got the "on the catwalk!" shade and it's gorgeous for everyday wear. It's lasting as long as the Revlon or l'Oreal ones, doesn't dry up or smudge, and it looks great (not too matte not too shiny) I got several of them since they were only 1,79$ instead of the usual 3$. Essence makes better lipstick than NYC colors, Wet n' Wild and all the other "cheap" lipstick. I like it very much! The only - is the packaging: when you apply the lipstick, the tube keeps rolling down and it doesn't "lock". I guess this is where they don't spend money: the tube itself. But with a lip brush you should be fine ;)

I don't go for drugstore lipsticks, not even Maybelline or Revlon (unless you count their lip crayons), so I surprised myself when I actually picked this up. I'll come clean- I only picked Barely There up because I could not find a shade that matched my Essence Longlasting Lipliner in Plum Cake, not even at a Mac counter (this one didn't match either). This was the lipstick that taught me that swatches can be deceiving- in a good way.

Whether with intent to purchase or not, I find myself habitually swatching lipsticks in the drugstore. I've always been put off by the sheerness of Essence lipsticks, as well as the slight shimmer in them. When I opened mine, I was delighted to find that the colour was solid, no fancy and unnecessary gleam in them. I swatched it on the back of my hand, and for one dispiriting moment, I found myself regretting my purchase. Imagine my relief when I swept it across my lips and discovered a rather intense, pinkish mauve! On top of that, it smelled of raspberries.

I don't think this lipstick is meant to stay, as much as its name suggests. You'll have to reapply it after a meal, like most lipsticks. I wouldn't say it is luxuriously creamy, but hey, it's five dollars a pop and does the job! It is definitely not on par with Mac, and it is certainly not trying to be. The plastic packaging is a sleek matte black and is very light. I'd definitely drop a couple more in my basket the next time I'm at Watsons.

- Super cheap, 2.50 euro (can't really go wrong with that)
- The shades are great, more natural rather than too bold.
- They won't last you all day, but if you don't eat/drink/bite your lips they will last for quite a few hours without the need to re-apply.
- They have a nice creamy, moisturising feeling without being too heavy on the lips.

I currently own
- Barely There which I usually match with the Satin Mauve lip liner.
- Dare to be Nude which I pair with in the Nude and could add the XXXL nude lipgloss in 06 Soft Almond.
-Nude Love, but i find it too pink for my tastes, it doesn't look good on me at all so that was a miss.

I absolutely love Dare to be Nude, since I prefer nude colours but both lipsticks are nice. I would also like to purchase Coral Calling.

I find that the lipsticks look much better and last longer with the lipliners unerneath but I guess that goes for any lipstick.

Overall, I am really fond of Essence's lipsticks/lipliners/lipglosses and would definitely repurchase as their price is also amazing.

edit- if you are a True/Warm autumn in the seasonal analysis, On the Catwalk is the EXACT match for shades 3.8 and 3.9 on the 'colour fan'--so it is an ideal cheap pick for a True Autumn!

H rarely compliments my other lipsticks but whenever i wear one of the essence ones he says they look great... He has no way of knowing that I am wearing smething inexpensive, just that it looks good that particular day. And i agree with the person who says she prefers them to her Chanels!

This is gorgeous! I think the only downside is it can lead to bleeding if you overapply for some reason (you don't need to! it's well-pigmented), and don't blot before a 2nd layer, or use lipliner. If you use a good lipliner, it is 5 stars. If you blot and reapply carefully, it is 5 stars. If you don't do that, it'll probably smear a little, and it would be 3 stars. The colour range is small, but good. The red is beautiful! On the Catwalk is the most perfect berry that lifts my complexion and brightens without being just a statement that takes over the rest of the face. There's a place for those, but these colours are throw-on-and-go types, that will work for any circumstance. I would expect colours like these from Dior or NARS.

These lipsticks last/stain. Really nicely.
They are not matte (more like satin or balm-like), and the texture is like a good lipbalm-slightly gel-like in texture, not exactly creamy.
Also worth mentioning: the packaging is much better than the previous (pink tube) essence lippies: black, colours are shown on the packaging, and the lid doesn't randomly pop off. On the Catwalk is too good. The shade is a perfectly balanced, flattering colour, not 'draining' and slightly tinged with grey/orange/pastel like some low-end lipstick ranges. It's like a high end lipstick!

I was Shoppers Drug Mart. I saw the Essence Longlasting Lipstick within the collection. It comes in 10 shades. It have nude, pinks, coral, berries and reds. The price is $2.99 Canadian. The tube is black with ring of the color of the lipstick shade and also the bottom the shade color and name. On top of the cap it have the letter "E" on it. I notice the lipstick bullet had an in print of the "E" on it. The first time I tested out the lipstick I put it on it had a perfume scent and when I smacked my lip it have the perfume scent left an after tasted in my mouth. The shade I got was Natural Beauty is a pink-mauve color. It was more of "My Lips But Better" shade color on me. I don't find this longlasting and it's not sticky either. Natural Beauty become my everyday lip shade when I go out. The downsize is I have to go to all the lipsticks to make sure nothing was touch, use or smash the bullets and it's very unsanitary just to see finger prints on it. One of the Shoppers Drug been taping all of the lipsticks and have testers out on display If you are in the United States of America or Europe the price are differents and they may have more collections than Canadian.

I've bought some incredibly expensive lipsticks over the years, stupidly so, and I've not found any I prefer to these! Got a drawer full of Mac lippies that never see the light of day now. The colours are amazing, exactly the same on the lips as the bullet, packaging is classy, price ridiculous!

An amazing hidden treasure found in the drugstore! I feel essence is such an underrated brand especially with their great quality product at such affordable prices. You can find these this lipstick range at Shoppers Drug Mart if you live in Canada for an amazing price of $2.99 each! There's about a total of 10 colours so far.

As for the lipsticks themselves, I have about five and I plan to get the rest of the colours since they are really amazing for the price (probably can buy the whole range and still be around the same price range of one high-end lipstick). There is a pretty good selection of colours from nudes, different variations of pinks, and reds. The texture is very creamy and has no problem when applied to the lips. Even if the lips are dry, I found that this formula doesn't accentuate them which is a plus. Also, as the name states, it does last for a good 5-6 hours for me without drying my lips. Pigmentation is great with these lipsticks and I don't really have anything to complain about them. A+ in my book.

Just a side note, none of the lipsticks have any shimmer in them. All of them of a creamy formula with a little shine that does wear off after a few hours

01 Coral Calling: pink-coral colour
04 On the Catwalk: deeper rose colour
06 Barely There: a rosy-brown neutral (my fav)
07 Natural Beauty: a light mauve colour, will likely be a MLBB colour for some people
09: Wear Berries: like the name states, a beautiful berry colour with purple undertone (another of my favs)
