This is a green floral for people who normally find green florals too strident. Unlike many green perfumes, it doesn't contain either galbanum or hyacinth and this makes it easier to wear. I love the smell of both galbanum and hyacinth, but they often give me a slight headache.

On me Chant D'Aromes smells soft, fresh, green, woody and slightly dry. I can mainly smell the …

This is very bright and crisp on the initial spray. Reminds me a little of maybe grapefruit or the ylang ylang note?

On the dry down the florals and musks come out more and its very soft and powdery. I love this one and wear it a lot. Its perfect for day or night wear. I find this lasts pretty well on the skin too and I can smell it throughout the day.

This review is based on a small bottle of vintage extrait. (I wrote a review originally about an EdT sample, and after having tried the extrait, Chant d' aromes gets another star). Chant d' aromes is a well blended aldehydic floral wood chypre that is recognizably Guerlain, particularly in extrait form.

Reviewers who like the idea of Chamade, but find it too green with …

Love it! And I did not think about the similarity to Ma Griffe until I read a prior review. I love Ma Griffe, too!

the only classic Guerlain that I do not like. Not because I do not appreciate the lovely light floral notes or the oakmoss but because just as I begin to appreciate them they disappear without trace - no sillage, no staying power. Frankly I just can't be bothered spraying all day, so would not repurchase.

Chant d'Arômes has a sanguine personality. It absolutely thrives in the sunshine and fresh air; indeed a little warmth seems to coax it into bloom. The opening is piquant, with bergamot, mandarin, and a slightly venomous, astringent peachy note, buoyed by baby-powder aldehydes, and the drydown is honeyed, laced with cinnamon, haunted by mossy shadows that identifies Chant d'Arômes as a …Read more

Let us discuss love. Nay, let us discuss the buts, ifs and whateverfors of it. Why are we moved to love anyone or anything with a passion, while remaining completely unmoved by others? The answer (as we all know, anyway) lies with entirely subjective rather than objective criteria, and this is very much a case in point. The lovely Chant d'Arômes has zero sillage on me, no lasting power to …Read more

Chant d'Aromes is a floral, not a sweet one. It lacks the gorgeous vanillic drydown of Shalimar et al, but instead shares the bitterness of another Guerlain classic, Chamade. I personally do not care for either. Chamade, at least is a well put together composition. This seems very watered down to me. I have a sample vial in the EDT; perhaps the EDP is different.

While I recognize that this is a well made classic fragrance, this is not for me. I just don't like powdery fragrances and to me, this has a chypre beginning but turns into pure baby power afterwards. I will be passing on this fragrance.

A classic chypre, very strong on the aldheides, very similar to Chanel 19 (19 is "greener", though) and reminiescent of Rive Gauche (this one being more "metallic") and L'Air du Temps
Chant d'aromes is an airy aldheidic vanilla in the classical Guerlain way, plus some berries, green grass and flowers.
Very classy, sophisticated.
Easy to wear but …
