I was excited to try the YSL Rouge Pur Couture Lipstick as I had never tried a lipstick at this price point before. I had also never tried a lip product from YSL. I received shade 19 (Fuschia) and shade 09 (Rose Stiletto). Both lipsticks apply smoothly with zero tugging and look opaque and even with minimal effort. Even after setting, they feel weightless and fairly moisturizing. I was actually surprised they lasted as long as they did since these lipsticks do not set like a liquid lipstick or something meant to be long lasting. The Fuchsia color is very bright but is a surprisingly wearable purple toned pink. The Rose Stiletto has gotten the most wear for me as it is a neutral dusty rose that goes with almost anything. I was always fairly skeptical about lipsticks at this price point, but these YSL lipsticks look and feel so much nicer than almost anything else i have tried. I would definitely be interested in additional colors.

This lipstick gahhhh my father got it for me in a MonParis/BlackOpium purse sprays set. I was SO-OOOO prepared to hate it. It has the most luxe packaging. I peered into the container & here was the most geriatric red I had ever laid eyes on. This is like what your widowed ancient powdery pruny wrinkled old aunt who is 80, smokes cigarettes & drinks Kentucky bourbon “neat” would wear, right, you know the 1 w too much rouge & 6 cats who has been kissing you on the cheek since you were 3. Well I WAS WRONG! Stay tuned. Turns out this is the most beautiful, sexy, young, sophisticated Parisienne red everrrrrr. Forget Auntie Arliss this is a heartbreaker! Forget MAC Morange this is the s###!! My style is more Kate Middleton than Kourt K., but this is sex in a tube. Think siren hawt. I don’t want to mar this perfect lipsticks perf rating. I would buy this again even $36 I think daddy paid $27.50 for the mini lipstick (who ever used up a total lipstick I adore mini’s!) with 2 EDP purse sprays whaaaaat I don’t normally equate YSL w “good price” but this is an awesome set. I dread most red lipsticks in GWP. I normally don’t go for red/orange/coral ok more likes MLBB/nude but this is so superbly awesome. I feel like a sexpot wearing this. Scandalous!!! #winning Grade: A

This is a fabulous lipstick! The reddish orange color looks vibrant and juicy, it's super pigmented but doesn't feel heavy. Also seems to be less fragranced than other colors from the same line. Lasts fairly well too. A new favourite!

I have been on the hunt for an uber glossy and opaque orange-red lipstick for a long time. I had basically been looking to find the shiniest (think latex LOL) satiny twin to Nars Heatwave (which is matte) - and here it is!

This is a beautiful color; as stated above, it's a total color dupe to Heatwave. It glides on uber smooth - so smooth it feels amazing. This formulation is incredibly moisturizing and creamy, probably the best I have ever tried (beats Mac Amplified Cream and Bobbi Brown in moisture, which says a lot). All it takes is one swipe to get complete coverage and excellent color payoff. The packaging is lovely of course - I mean hey, it's YSL. Is it worth (gulp!) $36.00? YES! It is to me, given the uniqueness of shade and decadent formulation which also seems quite nourishing on the lips. Granted, these are a little too expensive for me to purchase more in "basic" shades which can be easily duped at a lower price point (nudes or pinks), which seems to make up the majority of the range.

The only con here is that this is heavily scented of roses; if that's a no-go for you, this isn't the line for you as it does take quite a while to dissipate (maybe 20 mn? If not a little longer).

If you love orange-reds and want to treat yourself, this is the shade to pic!

First let me describe the product. This is a coral/orange opaque lip colour that comes in a beautiful gold case with the signature YSL emblem on it. Very classy. It's one of those things that you'll be proud to pull out of your handbag for a touch up. On me, I'm actually surprised how the colour works for my sallow Asian skin. Most of the red lipsticks don't work for me (they always look somewhat "messy" or awkward on my face). This is one I'll keep using. It lasts about 4-5 hours (with light eating and drinking) on me without drying out my lips. I'm already considering buying a couple more colours from this range. A keeper! A tad expensive but I feel like I'm paying for the quality.

Holy grail for sure !! Isn't everybody looking for the perfect red lipstick....? I always am, that's for sure. Well fellow MUA'ers, the search has been narrowed down. As we all know there are a gazillion colours of red, so what suits you and will work for you? I already own a few reds which are beautiful. Right now I'm obsessed with this YSL red Le Orange... It is an orange red with lots of temperament and fire. This lipstick absolutely adds colour to a face. It is a very warm red which still looks young, fresh and adds instant glamour. It is my first YSL lipstick and I am pleasantly surprised by the quality. It is very creamy, moisturising and long lasting. Now for my trick to make it last all day long: I outline with MAC cherry lip liner and apply Le Orange. I then take a brush and dip this in a translucent powder, I dab this lightly on my lipstick and add another round of lip liner and lipstick. I do this a few times and in between dab my mouth on a tissue to take off the excess. The result is lipstick which lasts all day long, including eating and drinking. I received many compliments on the colour as it's so charming and feminine. Love, love, love it... ! Turns out this colour is the same one as Kourtney K is wearing. My skin is a tad warmer than hers but it also looks gorgeous on her. For sure everybody has an opinion about her and her sisters but one thing I have to say is, their make up is flawless. So altogether I absolutely recommend this lipstick, summer is on its way and this is one way to embrace it and look fantastilicious...
