I was in the dollar store the other day, and saw they had a makeup section! I got a nyc lip sliders thing from there a few years back and must have forgotten they had it, because I love a bargain, especially for makeup. I remembered reading that these trios were pretty good (and come on, the flower design in the shadows looks so cute), so I picked one up in water lily. It contains three colors, a shimmery light blue with some silver and a hint of green, a nice fuschia shade, and a darker and slightly less shimmery version of the first shade. The first reviewer said that they are not very pigmented and are more like a sheer wash of color. I agree with that for the most part. They're not super intense. If you like crazy eye makeup, this is *so* not for you unless you really pack the shadows on. I do however think that they are more pigmented than simply a sheer wash of color. They're about medium pigmentation for me. I happen to love that because I usually stick to muted neutrals for my eyes (browns and greys), but this is a great way to get into all over brighter colors because I can even use the lightest shade for a brow bone and inner corner highlight! The shadows are a *little* powdery, but not too bad. They're also as soft as wet n wild's shades are, if not softer. There is little to no fallout with these, and they blend beautifully. The packaging is also really nice for a buck. It's chic and sturdy and comes with a double ended sponge tip applicator that's actually pretty nice, although I still reccommend using brushes with this for more blendability. The lasting power is good too, I don't notice any fading all day. Keep in mind, I live in a humid climate, so this is awesome for me. My lids are very oily and they do crease a *tad*, but all shadows do on me and these hold up better than most eyedshadows in my collection. How I wear them: over a primer (elf essential currently). The lightest shade all over the lid, on the brow bone, and heavily on the inner corner. I then focus more of this shade in the center of my lid. I drop a bit of the fushia shade on the outer third of my eyes, and drag it up into the crease. Then I blend the darker blue shade with it in the crease and bring that up to where my browbone shade begins so I have it all blended together. I line the outer half of my eyes with a Stila smudge stick in stargazer (a slightly sparkley black shade) or just any blak eyeliner, curl my lashes with the elf eyelash curler, and add covergirl's lashblast volume on my upper and lower lashes.I love this trio because it's so affordable (a dollar!) and a great way to break into color without being supppper niki minaj intense, but not muted at all. It's definitely a wearable look while being a bit crazy at the same time. I also love that it's not too insane to wear with a brighter lip. I love the buxom big and healthy lip cream in Creamsicle with this. Anything that's a peachy pink or a fushia shade would look amazing with this. Overall, this is an awesome trio. I would repurchase and try more, and definitely reccommend giving this a try.
