This is a nice break from the golds and bronzes I usually wear. I'm not usually inclined to drop this much money on anything makeup related, but I decided to treat myself for my birthday. I chose to purchase this instead of one of the UD Naked palettes as I felt I would utilize all of the shades in this one more and I didn't own anything remotely similar. I like that there are both matte and shimmer eyeshadows and they are all very easy to use and wear. My only complaint is that the metallic shade, Pink Lily, causes quite a bit of glittery fallout and is by far the sheerest shade in the palette...shame because it's so pretty. I haven't tried applying it wet, though. The rest of the shades are great and allow for the creation of multiple looks spanning from day to night. They all work wonderfully to make my blue eyes pop without making me look sickly like some lilac/purples do.

With the exception of Black Chocolate(which is beautiful as a liner btw), they are all sheer but buildable and easy to blend. I am rather incompetent when it comes to applying eyeshadow (especially when there is more than 1 shade involved - don't judge), so I can appreciate that. If you are looking for something to simply enhance and bring out your eyes without being very obvious, this could be a good palette for you. I have been reaching for this exclusively since I got it and feel that I will definitely get my money's worth.

The Lilac Rose Eye Palette is part of the Limited Edition Spring 2013 collection, launched in mid February, alongside a Shimmer Brick of the same name. I picked up this palette as soon as I could get my hands on it at Nordstrom because I had seen pictures in several blogs that looked so enticing - see the photo I uploaded. I am a cool toned blonde with grey green eyes and light skin (BB Porcelain, NW15) for reference.
Shade description: The 8 shades are all very wearable shades and a mix of three finishes - five mattes, two shimmer washes and one metallic: Base shade (Ivory, off-white) and liner shade (Black Chocolate, deep plummy brown) are matte, as well as the three lid shades (Pale Rose, a dusty pink, Barely There, a soft nude, Dusty Lilac, a grey with a touch of rose). The shimmer washes are my favorite Bobbi Brown texture, and this palette contains Stormy Grey, a soft grey and Heather Brown, a neutral heather. Pink Lily is a Metallic shade, it is a sheer purplish pink.
Overall: These colors are classic Bobbi Brown colors in that they all go together well and the different shades allow for various combinations. The color theme in this palette is neutral and softly muted. That said, the rose and violet shades are more on the cooler side of the spectrum whereas the neutrals lean more toward a warmer, nude beige color range. Bobbi Brown, in my view, has perfected the art of playing with color nuances like no other. She is able to put together the most natural looking wearable colors that in and of themselves are all quite subtle, but combined they create the most beautiful effect to layer on the lid and contour. To me, her soft colors never get boring. If someone is looking for bright, obvious and colorful they probably need to look elsewhere. Creating standout eyes effortlessly, that is what this palette is about. There are only very few brands offering that, and Bobbi Brown has consistently excelled at this. I have bought many Bobbi Brown palettes over the years, but I am happy to say that this is another masterpiece. I would recommend the Lilac Rose Eye Palette especially for those with light to medium, cooler and neutral skin tones to take a closer look at. However, it is probably safe to say that these shades could be worn by most anyone.
Packaging: I like the two-tiered design with 4 shades each, it makes for a compact and sturdy package.
