This is the new version of the discontinued Colorsilk Root Perfect, which I luved . Root Perfect was a creme & this is a liquid, so it does get a bit messy. But it works perfectly to cover grays 100% (at least it does for me). I leave it on for 20 minutes & all gray roots are covered. I don't use the whole thing either -- just mix up what I need. Yes, u could get a box of the regular Colorsilk, but the small amount in Root Erase is actually very convenient, if ur only using to color some roots or a few grays that are showing. This is also great to take along when traveling -- cuz if grays pop up, u can cover 'em quick. I take this, a plastic spoon & a small plastic container. I mix up a bit w/a q-tip & apply w/another q-tip. After 15 or 20 minutes, I wipe off w/a damp napkin or paper towel & those annoying grays are gone! Pretty awesome, eh?
