This shampoo smells really good, more of an herbal vanilla rather than a food-ish type vanilla. Personally I love the scent. It's a real treat to use.

It does have a thicker consistency, but I didn't find it hard to distribute throughout my hair at all. Produces thick lather and rinses cleanly.

I understand what other reviewers have said about how this makes hair feel. It is not an intensely moisturizing shampoo, so it does leave my hair feeling a bit straw-like. I have to use a conditioner of some type afterwards, definitely. However, I have fine hair that can tend to get easily weighed down and I find that using this shampoo with a moisturizing conditioner gives me the perfect amount of volume.

I have been checking out the Curly Girl method, which says to avoid shampoo with sulfates and conditioner with silicones. I found this product at Walmart for about $10. I love the convenience of the pump dispenser, even though it took quite a few tries before I could get the pump to initially pop up for use. I would buy this again.

I LOVE this shampoo! After going through my first two bottles of this and its conditioner, it's going to become one of my staples.

I first picked out this shampoo at my local Target because of the scent--it has a strong, sweet, warm vanilla smell. This is definitely not the shampoo for you if you aren't a vanilla fan, but if you are, it's heavenly. The consistency is, as many have already said, a bit like honey or syrup, but it's not sticky, lathers well, and personally I don't mind it. It does take a little more than I'm used to to lather my whole head; I have fairly thick, shoulder-length hair, and it takes me two pumps to cover everything.

After using these for several months, here's my impression.

-smells amazing, and the scent lingers in your hair for days--I've had so many compliments
-seems to give my thick but fine hair a reasonable amount of volume
-my hair has only been this soft and shiny when I was using the pricey BB Creme de Coco line
-overall, my hair just feels extremely healthy

-if I use just this, it does tend to get a little gunky after four or five uses (about 2 weeks), but that's true for me for most hydrating shampoos. I just use a clarifying shampoo with a very mild unscented conditioner once a week, this the rest of the time, and it balances out very well for me
-the first bottles I bought absolutely would not pop up the pump for use the way they're supposed to. I eventually started just removing the top and pouring it into my hand! Haven't had this problem since, so I think it must have just been a bad bunch of pumps from the manufacturer

In short: smells awesome, works very well for me, doesn't make my hair limp, isn't overpriced, and I will definitely be repurchasing

This shampoo was INCREDIBLY awful for me. Even though it says it's supposed to be moisturizing, it actually felt like it stripped my hair of all moisture and even after using a heavy duty conditioner, left it in bad shape. I could not use this shampoo without putting some argan oil in the ends of my hair after, or it would look like my hair was straw.

On top of the stripping, it always left me with waxy, nasty looking second day hair, meaning I had to wash EVERY basically I could wash every day and have gross, dry straw hair or I could try to hold off on washing for a day and have gross greasy hair. On top of all that, I paid 10 dollars for this. Ugh. I'd give this shampoo a pass. There are better sulfate free shampoos that ACTUALLY moisturize, and many of them are cheaper than this.

I recently ordered the black vanilla line because all the reviews I read highly recommended it. Although i love the smell, I don't believe this shampoo was moisturizing at all. It actually felt like it stripped my hair. So it's a no go for me I'll be using as a body wash since the smell is so yummy. And sticking with shea moisture & As I Am for my hair.

I didn't like this at first, but now that my bottle is almost empty, I realize that it's not such a bad shampoo after all. It smells nice, lathers good, and makes my hair feel clean with some body afterwards. I have fine, color-treated hair, and this shampoo does a good job cleaning my hair without stripping the color. The reason I didn't care for this shampoo initially was because of its viscosity. It reminded me of maple syrup both in color and thickness; and it felt weird working it up into a lather compared to other, creamier shampoos that I'm used to. But once I got used to it, I became a fan. This is good stuff. :)

I have color treated/Keratin treated hair. I tried this as a sample and it was great. I would have purchased this, but I tried other cheaper versions that I liked just as well (and some that I didn't). Smell is amazing but it's so expensive for a small bottle.

I love this gentle, sulfate-free shampoo. The vanilla scent is heavenly, and the moisturizing formula leaves my hair soft and full. I would definately buy this again.
