The notes are neroli, bergamot, angelica, mastic, iris, white jasmine, cinnamon bark, ladbanum, benzoin, musk, ambrette. I am pleased to report that this cologne is stronger and has more longevity than Sienne d'Orange. It also bears a remarkable similarity to Lanvin's Eclat d'Arpege to my nose. The opening is bergamot-heavy, overlaid with sweet angelica. I love this combination. It's the same sweet-sour combination that works so well in food. As it dries down, a clean iris and musk come through, the musk growing gradually stronger. The base is decidedly clean, and I regret to report none of the spicy notes are particularly obvious to my nose. Nor is the jasmine. Mastic, by the way, is a plant resin--I have never smelt it, so I have no idea how strong it is in After Midnight. I'd guess not very. In all, I'd say After Midnight is a thoroughly pleasant, wearable cologne with nice staying power and modest sillage. I might be tempted to buy it... if I didn't already have Eclat d'Arpege.

A perfect cologne that has all the qualities a cologne should have: freshness, a sense of clean, elegance, but most of all subtleness (which is hard to find in cheap colognes). The notes are perfectly balanced, with musk and ambrette playing with angelica and bergamot. And my beloved cinnamon!I love it, but unfortunately, it lasts one nanosecond on me, so it's not worth the big bucks. Sad.I find it very similar to The Healing Garden Lavender & Chamomile fragrance (with all its bath line), which I used to really love some years ago.

This one's growing on me. It starts with a bit of orange which I usually don't care for very much, but it's a really really nice orange/citrus, and after just a few minutes it blends in very well so you can't really pick out that note (at least I can't). Notes are: Bergamot, angelica root, neroli, iris, lentisque, jasmine, benzoin, labdanum, ambrette seeds. Quite a conglomeration, but this one settles to a super pretty summery scent without going to the beach, drinking coconut juice, or OD'g on tuberose or gardenia. It's pretty in a feminine way without being too 'girly-girly' and has a subtle sexiness probably owing to the benzoin, labdanum and ambrette. It's not really a dark fragrance, per se, but compared to some bright florals, I guess it is on the dark side. This one could be worn any time of day for pretty much any occasion, IMHO. At $120 for 3 ounces, the price is right, as well.
