I'm in two minds about this serum really...I hated the nourishing day cream so much, by the time my serum arrived in the mail, I was already plotting my next skincare folly. Alas, it arrived, in all it's beautiful Guerlain splendor, and against my better judgement, I cracked her open and proceeded to test her out. It's now 3 months later and I just bought bottle number 2. Guerlain doesn't sugarcoat the time frame on this one...they flat out tell you it takes 3 months for it to reach its optimal effectiveness, so that's why I'm going to continue using it for another go-round. The reason I am torn? Well...like other reviewers have stated, it truly is a beautiful product... aesthetically, texturally, and in an olfactory sense. I am not sensitive to fragrance and I have a deeeeep love for Guerlain's scented wonders. If you are sensitive to fragrance, stay away from this serum, it is heavily perfumed...not with Guerlain's signature lavender scent, but with a rich sweet scent that I'm guessing is supposed to evoke thoughts of flowers, honey, and springtime. It does make my skin extremely soft, but I'm still debating on whether that's from the overall product or the silicones in it...because it does have some. It's not loaded with silicones like Dior's serums, but they are definitely present. My biggest complaint (and perhaps the most pertinent), is that I have seen absolutely no improvement in my fine lines/aging. I am willing to be patient with this one and use it passed the 3 month mark to see if, in fact, Guerlain's claims are true. After this bottle is empty, I will update this review. So yeah...in all my incessant babbling, my opinion is this: it definitely is typical guerlain luxury. It's a milky, fragrant, almost lotion-like serum that smells of honey and sugar. It does add a wonderful softness to my skin and sinks in fairly quickly. Cons? No anti-aging effects just yet, can be sticky if too much is used, VERY heavily fragranced, expensive, and the biggest gripe...THE PACKAGING IS HORRIBLE. Guerlain went allll fashion and no function with this baby! It is a gorgeous hexagonal bottle with a gold screw top that is reminiscent of a cell of honeycomb and looks gorgeous on a dressing table. However, there is a dropper mechanism in the lid that is a complete mess of a design. It is difficult to draw up the correct amount of product, the dropper is very long and flimsy, and one wrong move when replacing the dropper into the bottle, and your royal jelly serum will be on the royal floor. The opening in the bottle is tiny, so it's easy to bump it with the dropper and send the tall, top-heavy glass bottle flying off the table. Even getting the serum out of the dropper is a two handed job...very very poor design. Lastly, like the cream, the products in this line were made to use with one and other...and no intruders are welcome. Every product that's not in the Abielle Royale line that I've attempted to add to my routine produces a less than desireable effect (the product balling up, seperating, etc.). If you're going to use this line, a commitment to it and only it is definitely necessary. I've given it a medium rating for now, and I'm hoping to come back to raise that rating to 5 lippies! (Or I could just be in total guerlain denial!). Happy skin caring everyone!

This is a beautiful serum. It is not watery and clear, it is rich and opaque white, but still very much fluid... it sinks into the skin and leaves skin firm and soft and looking radiant. I'm liking this entire line. I'm wondering why there are not more reviews? There is a scent, but it is not overpowering, as some Guerlain products CAN be... it's very light and nice. One of the top several ingredients is Pure Royal Jelly concentrate... I will likely but this again. I have no reason why I wouldn't!
