Got this as a sample gift at Holt Renfrew yesterday. I put it on today and wow. I absolutely hate it. Lavender is a very very tricky scent to work with, so i'll give it to Tom Ford for giving it a try. However, the lavender is mixed with sage and other herbals that definitely don't appeal to me. It makes me feel like an organic hair shampoo.... Ugh. I think the problem with this is that I am 19 years old and I do feel like this is a "older more mature" scent. It just might grow on me... but as of now... definitely not my cup of tea. I also read that this is a unisex fragrance and that really intrigues me because I think a man could wear this better than me.

Unfortunately, this and the only other Tom Ford scent I've tried (Neroli Portofino) have been too masculine for my taste. The dry down on this one reminds me very much of JPG Le Male (the blue striped bottle), which is lavender and a soft, powdery amber. I would like this on a man, but not on me!

When I first tried this, it didn't make a strong impression, but subsequent wears have turned it into one of my most reached-for scents. It is very definitely a lavender fragrance, but the lavender is surrounded by a swirl of supporting notes -- citrus, herbs, florals, and a bit of powdery amber. The result is a well-blended fragrance that smells soft and rounded. It's also more feminine than most true lavender scents. For me, it's one of those everyday jeans-and-t-shirt kind of perfumes, enjoyable and easy to wear.

I love the opening, such a fresh vibrant big flora lavender bouquet, Iike the other reviewers, I just wish it would stay longer. I think the scent dries down very quickly, in 3 or less hours, the fresh lavender is gone, and you can get very powdery scent. 5 hrs later, it is almost non existent. I still like this perfume and continue to use it, but will not rebuy it.

While I liked the light fresh opening of Lavender Palm, the base in the drydown quickly got to me and the overall effect then seemed generic and unpleasant on me. Loved the concept, and wish the fragrance had stayed like the opening. I was hopeful about the clary sage note, which I didn't find or was fleeting.

The Lavender Palm eau de parfum was introduced in spring 2012 and is part of Tom Ford's Private Blend line. Lavender Palm was created by Yann Vasnier.Notes: lavender, bergamot, lemon, clary sage, lime blossom, pink and white oleander, olibanum, green moss and vetiver. The first impression on my skin is a floral lavender accord with some pungent, artificial smelling fruit mixed in. There is a very strong citrus note which for the most part drowns out the lavender; What emerges then is somewhat softer, sweet, and powdery. The heart is a woodsy vanilla. While I like the dry down I am very unimpressed with the opening. In the first two hours the opening notes keep clashing and competing with one another instead of blending harmoniously. The result is a loud fragrance for most of its duration that eventually settles into a pleasant yet unspectacular dry down. There are some very intriguing lavender fragrances available, my personal favorite being Chanel's Jersey from the Les Exclusifs Line (see my separate review). However, Tom Ford's Lavender Palm clearly misses the mark for me. Therefore, I would not consider spending $195 for 1.7oz/50 ml or $475 for 6.8oz/250 ml.
