I am quite happy with this palette since it is the first truly neutral set of brown tones that I can wear without looking dirty. I've used other BB shadows, but tended to stick to the grayish taupes and heather colors, since the browns I've tried are too warm and make me look ill. I gave this 4 starts instead of 5 because you must use a primer if you want these to show up or last. I use Laura Mercier Linen Eye Basics, with is light pinkish peachy beige on me, and it really works well with the colors in this palette. I also think it makes my forest green/gray eyes look lighter and brighter. There is no highlight/base shade, but I find it works well with Ivory and Bone Shimmer Wash. One color is totally useless and messy to work with - Pink Chandelier Metallic. But everything else is great, the cocoa berry is a great liner, and the brush is fantastic! I recommend this if you are looking for a good nude palette for work that has just a touch of shimmer.

I kind of agree with the reviewer below me. I think Bobbi Brown's quality (at least of their eyeshadows) has taken a hit in recent years. I think the nude palettes from a few years back contained better colors and better pigmented eyeshadows. I realize this is called an "Ultra Nude" eye palette... and I guess it fulfilled it's requirement: the colors in here ARE all ultra-nude/ not richly pigmented. The Cocoa Berry & Stone colors are nice, but the others require a lot of patting, patting, patting, to get any color payoff on my lids. I like nudes, but I want to be able to *see* my nudes, if you know what I mean. Maybe these should have been all matte eyeshadows instead of shimmer washes and metallics? I don't know. I feel that the "sparkly" shadows are the ones that "ruin" this palette, because they are not that highly pigmented. I also agree with the others here that this palette is missing a good highlighter. Anyway, I do use my Ultra Nude palette for work... but I find it hard to work with just the colors inside this palette. I always wind up grabbing a MAC, Bare Escentual, or Inglot eyeshadow to use as my lid color & highlight and I use the palette shadows as blenders around the crease. Or, I use the Shimmerwash colors in the palette and use a color like MAC French Grey in the crease. I find that if I use only the colors in the palette, my eyeshadow looks muddied. Overall, I would say this is an average nude eye palette, one that you probably don't need if you have others.

Yuck! This is sheer and chalky. I also hate how these shades are yellow based. I also think the quality of BB is going down. I used to use her makeup exclusively. Now the quality is going down and the prices are going up. Save your money on this palette and get the Urban Decay Naked palette. It's much better quality and you get more product.

The Ultra Nude Palette is part of the pre-spring Neons & Nudes Collection launched in January '12. Retails for $45 and includes a high quality double ended angled eye shadow and liner brush. The packaging is the classic BB black lacquer casing, with a fresh pink inset inside surrounding the pans (see the BB stock picture I uploaded for reference). It's no real secret, but I'll state it nevertheless - IMO Bobbi Brown does Nudes like no one else. Hands down. You just cannot go wrong with her natural, beautiful shades of beige, grey and brown if you are looking for subtle enhancement to bring out your beauty. The result is quite the opposite of noticeable and flashy - just classy. This palette has two matte and four shimmery shades to create a variety of looks. It does not contain a base color and the liner color is exclusive to this palette, the Cocoa Berry Shimmerwash, a beautiful deep plum which can also be used lightly in the crease. I am very light skinned, and the typical palette liner shades such as Espresso or Caviar I can only use for lining - which I rarely do with powders, because I prefer the staying power of BB's gel liners. I also like the dual ended eye shadow/eye liner brush very much, as it has an angled head which makes it versatile for placing the shadow onto the lid as well as blending into the crease.Overall: Although I already own the Shimmerwash Nudes and Stonewashed Nudes Palettes I was drawn to this new offering. Chino is a unique taupe that is a repromote, on the cooler side, similar to Cement but deeper in tone, so it is perfect for my NW15 complexion. The other matte shade is Stone which is a neutral medium brown. The shimmers are neutral to slightly warm but not overly so. I find all shadows in this palette to be very high quality, soft and blendable, buildable color. This should make the color selection in this palette suitable for a wide range of skin tones.

Since I have both of Bobbi's previous nude palettes (Shimmering Nudes and Stonewashed Nudes), I wasn't sure that I needed this. This is similar, but slightly warmer than both. I'm a NW15 and this isn't too warm by any means; all of the shades are wearable. It's nice to see Bobbi branch out a little--Bobbi fans will note that this palette does not contain Espresso, Caviar or Bone/Navajo, which seem to show up in every other Bobbi palette. This also, oddly, doesn't contain a highlighter shade either. The Stone shade is not the Shimmerwash shadow sold as a single. The pans are decent size too; there are fewer shades than in the previous nude palettes, but the pans are larger. These shades aren't flashy at all and definitely fit the nude description. Two are matte and four are shimmery. The shimmery shades aren't at all OTT--these could be worn during the day or at night. The darkest shade, Cocoa Berry, works as a liner. One color, the Metallic color Pink Chandelier, is shimmery/glittery and not very pigmented, but the others are well-pigmented. Like other Bobbi shadows, they have good staying power over a primer and they blend beautifully. The texture is nice and buttery, which makes them go on easily.I do like this and I'm glad that I have it, but I don't consider it a must-have if you have other Bobbi or nude/naked palettes. If you don't already have similar colors, this is definitely worth looking at.
