This is the ultimate dark polish. With the best name. I apply two coats and finish with the Essie gel top coat. I often get compliments because the colour is unusual. It could definitely cost less, but I’m not bitter about it.

What a huge disappointment - and - sticker shock to boot!!! Wanting a little pick-me-up from the 'winter blahs', headed uptown after work in search of an exciting new shade of nail lacquer. The color selection seemed nice - but the price - $30 is double or more - above other high end department store polishes. Considering the price, I was expecting nothing less than sheer perfection to justify the high cost. The color was a little flat, and worst of all - the polish itself was very thick & gloppy, which made it quite difficult to get a good clean coat of polish on. The consistency reminded me of the torture of trying to polish your nails on a hot, summer day! It was awful! I got the 'Ginger Fire' color. I am returning it, as it cost way too much to be so thick & difficult to use when it is a brand new bottle. I'll stick with Revlon or Deborah Lipmann thank you very much!

I really really really wanted to love this, but I just don't. The color changed on me, just didn't dry to what the bottle color was - the red seemed to disappear and that's what gave the richness to the shade. I tried it twice. Oh well....

This polish has really impressed me. I have worn Bitter Bitch through housecleaning, caring for horses, washing and waxing my car, typing, and still over 2 days later, the polish is shiny and hasn't chipped, I didn't use base or top coat to really test this polish out. Bitter Bitch is quite the chameleon, in some lights the colour looks almost black or the colour of dark chocolate or black coffee. In others, BB is softer, as if a shot of milk or cream has been added. The closest I can describe the colour to is Chanel's Rouge Noir, but instead of RN's dark cherry undertone, BB is all about the very deep brown.Application is easy, the polish glides on and does not streak. Even with one coat, the polish was very smooth and I found two coats sufficient. The formula is sheer and slightly gel like but it gives excellent coverage. It dries reasonably quickly too. I did find it dripped off the brush so be careful with carpets and clothing, but this isn't a huge issue. As above, longevity is excellent and the shine is still very much present over 2 days later. I have noticed with some other glossy dark polishes that the finish gets scratched up very quickly like swirl marks on a car's paint. Not the case here. One criticism I have is that as soon as I opened the bottle, the brush came loose from the lid, so I have to use the brush as is. Not really a problem as far as using the polish, but I hope I was just unlucky and this isn't something that happens often. If you want classy dark shiny nails and have the budget, then I would recommend this polish.
