This has been my go-to everyday mascara since I started wearing make-up a couple years ago, and I can't tell you how sad I was when I found out that NYC doesn't make it anymore. While I do appreciate what some higher end mascaras can do, I don't want to spend that much (more than 10$) on something that I wear very often. Sometimes you get what you pay for, but in this case, this has been one of the best 1$ investments ever. It's something that I'd stockpile if I find it again in stores.

Anyway, this mascara is great in how it leaves my lashes darker, separates my lashes very well, never clumps, and doesn't flake once it dries. I don't care too much for the lengthening, but it does add a little bit of length to my already adequately long lashes (as in not super long and not short). The formula doesn't feel heavy on my lashes nor does it make my lashes look super dramatic. In a way, it adds a nice definition to my lashes. I don't even mind that it's not waterproof - I've been caught in the rain with it, and surprisingly didn't have panda eyes going on.

It does go on wet, so you do have to be careful and give it enough time to dry. It can be messy when you start layering, but again, be patient with it. Also, if the brush isn't your thing, just stick in a different wand and call it a day. Otherwise, this is a great formula for the price.

I'm so glad to see so many other reviewers loving this mascara as much as I do! There are a lot of women who wouldn't dare try this just because it's so cheap. That's too bad, because this is such a fantastic mascara and those people have no idea what they're missing out on.

The other reviewers who said that it doesn't clump, lengthens and defines are totally spot on; this miracle stuff does all that and more. For me, it also seems to add volume at the base of my lashes.

Plus, it's not so thick that you will get the dreaded spider eyes if you apply multiple coats. I love that, because it's so buildable. We walk a fine line with mascara when it comes down to trying for length and volume, versus looking like a fool, don't we? But no need to worry with this mascara, because it will take good care of you, and the best part is that it's only $1!!!!

I stop just short of calling it my HG mascara though, because I have found another one that lengthens just a bit more, and that's Jordana Best Lash Extreme Volumizing Mascara. I know it says volumizing, but it actually lengthens, and it does it so well that it is hands down the very best mascara that I've ever used.

This is a wonderful mascara. Really wonders in lengthening and separation---that's basically what every set of lashes need to look more dramatic. thin lashes? Wiggle back and forth for thickness(which may be done with any mascara, but mascaras that dramatically separate lengthen are not easy to find)..Know the art of mascara usage before commenting on mascaras..Have no idea why some people claim it's no good. What kind of lashes won't benefit from lengthening and separation? This works like Definicils from Lancome...The low price of this mascara got y'all confused? Please try this. I have tried every mascara out there. This mascara will not let you down.

I just bought this and for the price I gotta say I'm impressed! I've used it several times and it is one of the best mascaras I have tried, if not THE best. ( I am almost 50 and keep a list of mascaras I have tried and my list is near 50 as well!)
This applied very easily and beautifully, while separating my lashes and without ANY clumping. The first coat applied a very natural pretty look. It lengthens and adds a bit of volume, but you will definitely get more length than volume. A quick second coat added more length and volume so I ended up with a more flirty look. But again, nothing too dramatic.
I have used this several times and it dries quickly, never flakes or smears, even in hot weather. My eyes are also sensitive and they have remained comfortable all day long while wearing this.
Honestly i was shocked at how well this mascara worked. For a couple bucks it excels over many mascaras costing 10 times the price.

I have only found this mascara once where i live, and it is the best lengthening mascara I have tried. Easy to apply and it does what it's suppose to do! The price was pretty cheap i think it was a little over 2$. But absolutely would repurchase it again, if i can every find it. :)

I seriously have no idea why this isnt considered a "holy grail" mascara cause it is, and for $1? This right here is the hit. The brush might not seem much, but it seperates, voluminizes, lengthens, and thickens. Not sure about holding a curl since i never curl my lashes, but my lashes arent curly, neither do they lay down straight, so theyre in between. This mascara by far is one of the best drugstore mascaras i have ever tried. It gives me everything that i want in a mascara. It is not waterproof, and it doesnt flake. I cant even find a high end that can beat up to this. I can pile on layers and layers and find my lashes still looking flawless and beautiful, also fans them out too! It also feels lightweight compared to most mascaras. The formula is a slightly wet, but not extremely. I find that this is a perfect formula of not too dry, and not too wet. Just in the middle. The extreme black has a slight dark blue hue to it, but you can barely notice it unless you look super close. It isnt jet black, but this mascara is still amazing. This brush and its formula together is a very good combo, and i find that i dont need to pair this up with any other mascara. Its very easy to reach the bottom lashes to lengthen and define them.
Overall highly impressed, amazing mascara. Highly suggest it to anyone.

Okay so for a $1 mascara, this thing is the bomb! It gives the greatest length I have ever seen (more than my benefit they're real mascara)! Seriously, if you're on a budget or don't like to spend so much on mascara, this is perfect and amazing and I definitely will repurchase!

I think this is the perfect mascara to use when you're just starting to get into makeup because it doesn't make a statement. It gives a your-lashes-but-better look so it looks very natural, especially on people with dark brown -black hair.
Unfortunentely, this isn't water proof but I find the colour really sticks to your lashes afterwards. If you add alot of it to your lashes for volume, you might get some but the volume will fade throughout the day. On the other hand, if you add enough just to coat your lashes, you will get a natural looking length that will last you almost all day. Also this does NOT smudge at all!
So basically, this is good for length but not volume. For the price of $1.50 at Wal-Mart, you are getting it for a very good price. :)

I won't say it's bad, but it's not my holy grail. It does lenghten and volumizes, but does not the best job at seperating (in my opinion) and I believe it's because of the spiraled around brush. If you just need an inexpensive mascara (1,50$ at Walmart, more or less), this is for you! I wouldn't repurchase, but it's nice! :)

I have naturally very long, grazing my eyebrows type of lashes, and am in need of volume more than anything else. I usually swipe this over a coat of volumizing mascara, and get crazy-defined, even longer lashes. It's great combined with another mascara, but on its own, it does its job but isn't amazing.
