Got this as part of a Brilliant Gloss Collection - wow! This was a mini six-pack of popular colors, including Angelina Jolie's favorites, Love and Charm (both too light for me, so this is not why I got the the 6 pack, but if you are blonde and fair, see my reviews of those colors as well if you are interested)

Charisma is a lovely daytime or party shade, subtle shimmer (no glitter) in a gentle medium red with a slight burgundy undertone that leans a bit to the cool side (good if you have pinkish skin or blonde/silver hair). No scary Hallowe'en colors. You can wear this to the office, even to a conservative work environment without any problems.

Quite glossy and moisturizing, some of the emollience remains even after you eat. Chantecaille has the magic property of de-emphasizing wrinkles and lines in the lips, maybe by a gentle plumping effect (no tingling or irritation).

If it were organic, I would give it 10 stars!

PS Charisma is slightly redder than the smokier burgundy Mulberry, and although it is in the Brilliant formulation which applies with a brush, rather than in the other gloss formulation applied with a sponge, I find both to have equally moisturizing properties - work well even in the driest coldest Canadian winters (see my reviews). Perhaps on an airplane, I would have to use lip balm as well, but otherwise excellent moisturizing properties.

This is my first Chantecaille gloss and while I love it, I really can't say it was worth the price ($28 USD), if I'm going to be really honest. The color - a shimmering raspberry red - is lovely, and better still that it applies on the sheer side, as it's more forgiving this way (no ugly bleeding out of the lip lines). It's also very, very shiny, but it doesn't really have that glassy, sticky finish - rather, it looks very wet, quite alluring.

As pretty as it is, however, it just doesn't last, and I'm the type of person on whom all lip products stick like crazy. Even MAC Lustres and random colored balms, known to disappear within moments, last on my lips. But this stuff evaporates so quickly that it reminds me almost of those cheap, watery glosses I used to buy at accessory stores like Claire's when I was a young girl.

However, my lips do feel super moisturized and soft when I'm wearing this, even after the color has faded. So at the end of the day, this feels like one expensive lip balm, and one that definitely works. Will I buy again? Probably in another shade, and only because I'm an addict, like so many others on MUA. Otherwise, if you're pinching pennies, or honestly, smarter than I, save your money.
