Listen up blue eyed and grey eyed girls, this one is for you! I first saw this trio on emilynoel83 Youtube channel, so I have her to thank for this purchase. It's widely recognised that each colour in the trio is a dupe for a well loved MAC shade - the left shade is Mac's Nylon, the middle shade is Satin Taupe and the shade on the right is Knight Divine. I don't know about how accurate that is, but when I saw the colours swatched I decided they were my kind of colours and I had to have them.

The texture of this trio is lovely, each shade is well pigmented and they blend wonderfully. The Nylon dupe was a slight disappointment on me but only because it seemed to just vanish on my skin - it's a somewhat buttery pale yellow with a bit of a shimmer and it didn't do anything for me. The Satin Taupe dupe however is a beautiful soft, very neutral grey brown. It is buildable and makes my blue grey eyes pop. When paired with the gorgeous slatey blue grey of the Knight Divine dupe you have smokey eye heaven - these colours together are perfect.

The quality of these shadows is fab, I haven't noticed any fallout or fading. While there is excellent colour payoff, the satin finish of the taupe and grey shades make these shades easy to pull off even when applied quite dramatically - the same colours done in a frost or shimmer would be a huge no-no on me and my less than youthful skin. The nicely done satin finish is one of my favorite things about this trio. When I use this trio I substitute NYX in Eucalyptus as a highlight shade as it shows better than the yellow, that's the only reason this gets four lippies rather than five, and that's largely down to my colouring and not the quality of the shadow.

The trio is housed in an attractive, sturdy glossy black box with a generously sized mirror in the lid - you could use this mirror to create a look if there were no others available. There is what looks to be a good quality sponge applicator included.

I bought this trio on sale and even though I may never use one of the colours these are such good quality that it still counts as a bargain. More so when I think how much two MAC shadows would have cost me.

What a great little mini palette. I bought this because I wanted the gray color, but all three colors look good with my skin tone and eye color. There is also a barley color and a taupe in the trio. I use them often. The quality of NYX eye shadows is just as good as any high end brand I've tried. They are very pigmented, apply smoothly and blend easily, and wear all day with primer. I definitely recommend this,.

I bought this because of a beauty broadcast youtube review suggesting MAC dupes; she brought this palette up as being close dupes for the shades nylon, satin taupe and knight divine. I wasn't expecting much from the suggested nylon or knight divine dupes, but I'm a sucker for taupe-y anything, and love the nyx eyeshadow formulas so I bought this trio. But I ended up loving all 3 shades! I do wear them together pretty often. If you apply the darkest shade on the right with a light hand it can probably pass in a more uptight day job.
NYX eyeshadows have decent staying power and good pigmentation, I always use a primer first with any eyeshadows and haven't had fading issues with this trio. These three shades all have satin-ish shine to them more than shimmer and aren't true matte shades. However, they're not glittery so you're not going to have to deal with fallout all day/night.

Each of these eyeshadows is the size of a MAC shadow. You get a warm beige highlight, a cool taupe, and a shimmery dark grey. It's not easy to depot but I managed to get them out and put them in my MAC palette. They are great basic colors.

I. Love. This. Product.

Basically the other reviewer covers everything I wanted to say, but seriously, this is my everyday look. I use the lighter shades for school/day, and use the darker one more for nights/going out. You WON'T regret this! Get it!!! :)

I wanted to purchase the Smashbox Eyelights trio in Smokebox but, for some strange reason, this one isn't available in Canadian retail outlets (all the other trios are!). Then I saw this trio from NYX at the drugstore and it seems to be an exact, identical twin dupe!!!

This trio consists of a very light, slightly yellow highlighter (similar to MAC's Ricepaper or maybe Nylon), a shimmery true taupe shade and then an almost black shade, also with shimmer. The shimmer in all 3 colours is pretty subtle, though it is most noticeable in the black shadow. The shadows are very smooth and there is no fall out with any of the 3 shades. Pigmentation on the lightest colour isn't very intense but on the other 2 shades, it is up there with the best of them! Considering that the Smashbox trio is $35 US and the NYX one is well under 10 dollars and contains 3 really excellent, wearable shadows in a pretty nice package - solid, sturdy and sleek looking and with a nice mirror to boot (and a pretty useless applicator), this is a fantastic value!
